This is one of my favorite movies.

I agree, this was a great movie and one I have watched several times.
I was thinking of this movie today because of the launch (on July 30th) and overall mission of the Mars Perseverance Rover. I would like to know what safeguards are going to be in place when they bring martian material back to earth. Especially since they are targeting material they think may contain life or the remnants of life.
Moon rocks were one thing, especially as we tend to think the moon was constructed from the earth or a result of a collision with earth, either way the two bodies would have exchanged material. Where as Mars is a different thing entirely. I am curious what the failsafes really are.
