It has been my experience that most folks mean "Someone a lot like me" when they say normal. That usually leaves me out.  :tounge:

I got my wife a new set of wash/dryer.  I have to retrain her about once a month on them.  She does not like putters at all.  The new ones are saving the world.    I keep telling her you need to adjust the timing on everything.  (amount water, spin cycle, temp of the water)  They are programed to save the world, but not get your things clean.

You're talking to someone who has her cellphone remind her of scheduled events throughout the day. I can't even turn one off when it starts making noise. As for laundry? I know how to pour detergent into a laundromat unit. If the T-shirts come out pink, it's a fashion statement.

My grandmother had one, in the 1950s. My other grandmother had a two-piece wall-mount telephone --- party line of course. My father taught me how to drive a 3-on-the-column stick-shift. Today's carjackers leave it at the end of the block.

Gad, the olden days. Women at the river, beating clothes clean with rocks. Fred and Wilma screaming at that purple thing. I forget its name....

Excellent!
Weirdly enough, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the left challenges the washer cycle designation, just like they did with "Master" bedroom, claiming it was a slave reference, or the master slave sapect in engineering, where one piece controls the other, eg master cylinder, slave cylinder on brakes.
Yes, there was a movement to have it removed from universities in an effort to stop its propagation.
