Ever talked to anyone with degenerative arthritis, and is not yet able to afford hip replacement surgery? Those not so handicapped are curiously insensitive until they too must use such a cart.

In this case he was too heavy and too far away when he leaned out to snag that 12-pack. Those who like myself lost 70 pounds in under a year are ABSOLUTELY insensitive to that plight.
