A Mexican bank-robber robs a bank in Texas and flees over the border, with the Texas Rangers in hot pursuit. He sees them a few miles behind him, closing the distance, so, after crossing over a bridge, he dodges into a nearby grove of trees,and buries the money under a red rock.

Then he jumps on his horse and races towards a nearby town.

The Rangers catch up with him in that town, and drag him off his horse, and snarl, "Where's the money you stole???" ... but he doesn't speak English so he just shrugs...they go and find someone in the town who can translate... 

They tell the translator, "Ask him where the money is..."The translator asks, in Spanish, "where is the money?" The robber says, "I'm not going to say!" 

The translator tells the Rangers, "He says he won't say."

The Rangers draw and cock their revolvers, and the head Ranger says, "Tell him if he doesn't say, we'll shoot him dead right now!"

"The Translator says to the robber, "They say, if you don't tell, they'll shoot you dead!"

The robber goes pale, and quickly says to the translator  "Okay, tell them I buried it under a red rock in a grove of trees just on this side of the bridge!"

The translator says to the Rangers, "He says he spits in your faces and is not afraid to die!"
