It's all good, I live for extreme, it challenges me to live and push my limits.
And no, there's nothing pretty about that old dozer, Hell, I'm always amazed it fires up and does what it does.

I'll take the backhoe down when it all settles down and the mud dries a little, in about a month.
That thing is a bit unwieldy for weight distribution.

We faired quite well compared to the valley, but then, our canyons get this treatment every cycle 5 to 7 years, when Mother Nature applies a self enema and blows the canyons clear.
I'd had a shitload of debris from the snowstorm that came through a year ago, and destroyed the campsite, was able to give away all that timber, but a lot of trees wound up in the creek, not worth salvaging but I expected this rain since it had been 5 years since our last deluge of rain. (Oroville dam debacle)
Has any of our flooding been in the news? Because this really did kill the AGW LIE!

Like you, we too rely on this for water storage. My spring has never failed me, but I've seen it slow down in bad drought years, so this snow that froze, then this liquid global warming, keeps the Devil at Bay.

Noah was Right, he listened to God, unlike our idiot leftists. Oh, and we got more on the way, as it looks like you might get this too? Hope you needed it, it will be a lot of rain.

We might be looking at some changes coming this weekend. Bout time. Temps are bouncing around, 10* last week, 83* yesterday. On a wet year that usually means some pretty good spring rains. And spring is only about 6 or 7 weeks away, it usually lasts a couple of days before the nine month summer starts.

We won't get the rain they do east of here, we have a small 100 acre farm about 110 miles east of here where we grow our hay and lease out the rest and they have been getting the rains.

Texas is divided down the middle, east of IH 35 is around 400 feet above sea level, and gets the rain, west of thirty five starts the hill country, or as we call it, the desert. We're at 1300 feet above sea level so about 900 feet higher that what is east of here and the clouds seem to follow that trough.  But every year there is hope.

So you're in Texas? Yeah, weather can be a bit iffy down there.
Though this is a few days old, this guy is pretty damn good at what he does.
Quick National forecast. How does it look for your area?

We're on the edge. With fingers crossed. The moisture is here, we just need that low too set it off. He's showing it.  We'll get something, probably not the creek clean out, but that will come.

Excellent! You guys really need it, it's been a few years since you've gotten any substantial rain down there.
Keep me updated, should be interesting.

Have not seen it, but I rarely watch the news. The local stations we can get talk more about what news is coming up next than they do telling what is happening. We can not get any national news worth watching. I get most of our local weather forecasts from the internet. Same with the news, no wonder the left hates the internet.

Same here!
I don't even watch local news since it all went hard left. So I have no idea what's going on Nationally, and like you, everything comes from the web.

I turned on the evening news, they showed several videos on the flooding, bigger story than the storm heading for the east coast.

They are here.

Well after all was said and done, I got a literal foot of rain in two days. Just dumped the rain gauge 10 minutes ago.
Another wave comes in Wednesday and Thursday, so it ain't even close to being done.
They say another two weeks of this, at least.

God I love when mother Nature makes libs cry.

    And here comes the spin!!

QuoteHere are some recent headlines regarding the impending "catastrophic consequences":

USA TODAY: 'Truly a brutal storm' heading for California; forecasters predict flooding, landslides, deaths: Live updates
KRON4 San Francisco: Parade of storms not enough to end drought, California snow surveyors say
CBS: Forecasters warn of 'brutal,' potentially deadly storm system arriving Wednesday
FOX News: California faces double whammy of bomb cyclone, 'Pineapple Express' for 'brutal' storm threat
NPR: A third atmospheric river storm is set to add to misery in California's flooded areas

Despite the headline and the quote, it's a pretty good article. The media is nothing but rating whores and could not tell the truth and nothing but the truth if they had to.

Like clockwork, they never miss a chance to glorify strife.
We finally get rain, like we always do, as a river of water and the earth drinks it up like it might be the last for years to come, and it will be, that's Ca.
Well, at least they didn't disappoint us.

Oh, and that quake SF had the other day? Looks like it messed with the track, this leg of the river is all confused.
Instead of the actual river it was beeline straight for my are, it has now turned to a typical cyclone looking storm that will move through quicker and nowhere the impact it should have had.

Meteorologist will never admit it, but there is a definite link between quakes and weather, even though everyone knows it, they for some reason can't fit it into their projections.
We'll still get rain, but this event that was supposed to go throughout January, may end after this storm.
That's what it looks like to me. I wanted a fuckin Deluge!!!  :stomp  :stomp  :stomp  :bigl

Is all the rain and heavy snow pack enough to almost bring Lake Mead back to full pull?
"If you can't run with the big dawgs, stay on the porch!"

Maybe from the rain a bit, but the snowpack lies mainly on the West side of the Sierra, that's why Nevada is all desert, the snow gets rung out through orographic lift over the Sierra.
I think the Colorado river relies mostly on the Rocky mountains for its runoff.

Though Nevada did get quite a bit of rain, a majority of which comes off the Equator up through Mexico.

Ca Drought Ends.
Until the doomsayers return next summer.
This is normal Ca weather! Many of you have heard me rant about Ca and its cyclical weather of 7 to 15 year cycle, and here we are, back to deluge, and headed into the next drought.
So don't be surprised when the left claims it's AGW causing it.

When in fact, ca drought to deluge is perfect evidence that the climate is not changing, it's doing what it has done since the Sierra rose out of the depths.
Fact is, our water level is normal, despite measly 150 year old records, Ca keeps its own records, and sometimes these droughts last for a thousand years, so we're more than normal, we're sitting in a sweet-spot in time.
Oh, and did I mention, that Jan and Feb are our snowiest and wettest months?

State water supplies are still overcoming a deficit from the recent drought and groundwater supplies have declined. It will take some time and more water to recover that storage, which is why officials can't say that the drought is over, she said.
