Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is the significance of this info? 

I cant  possibly  imagine this  judge  having the  courage to declare a  mistrial after a  guilty  verdict.

This will not end with a guilty verdict.........a hung jury maybe....IMO there is one rogue juror who is holding up a NOT GUILTY verdict.

I think this  judge  is  very weak. I also dont think people realize these  jurors dont  know all we know nor do they realize the  jury  knows a  lynch mob awaits them if they acquit.

The owners of the car dealership testified for the prosecution that they didn't ask Kyle to be there. Yet we can see clearly they are hanging out together like nothing's wrong.

It doesn't corroborate Kyle's claim to self-defense, but it does undermine the prosecution's claims.
