I know Tim Scott from our former professional connections. He is the real deal. What you see is what you get. From the time he was elected a county commissioner he has been an outspoken conservative. He won his last senate race decisively.

Tim Scott TALKS a good game, but he's a Never Trumper.

I take seriously the fact that he's being endorsed by flaming RINOs, and his Liberty Score.

67% isn't looking good, till I looked at the contrary votes to Conservative Review, I wouldn't take him on a Presidential ticket, but I'd let him prove himself as a Senator - FIRST.   IMO, some of those contrary votes (stimulus types), though they went against CR, he might have been gritting his teeth & swallowing hard to flip the lever the wrong way.  One more term... he needs to toughen up or get out.

What saith F. Lee Levin...?  Mark probably has a good handle on Tim Scott.

If Lindsey and McCarthy like him, I assure you, they think he's a workable and pliable RINO!

Conservative Review gives him a D 67%, his voting record is atrocious!

I agree completely - "they think..." - or is it, "they KNOW"  ... I'm kinda on the fence, basing that partly on

SC is an interesting state, I'm inclined to go with Supersalemgr's comment on Tim Scott - could a solid Conservative actually get elected as a representative/senator there?   I'd rather play-it-safe, let him prove himself - kinda like we did with Trump.

I get the point, Tim Scott's pandering - buuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttt (lol), if Scott is going to go anywhere, get any airtime, he's gonna have to have the $ to BUY IT, or, hit those damn buttons to get invitations to get on.  I don't think Tim Scott is Presidential material - but, he could become a lot better, with "help" - I'll keep an eye on him, regardless. ... just cut him a little more slack, IMO, he's either lacking good messaging - or - hate to say it, conviction.  I still say, let him prove himself - just keeping Trump's initial campaign in mind, he got a LOT of HELP from Hope Hicks, Kelly Ann Conway & Melania to get it "dialed in" - so, if Tim Scott got the same, meh...?

Milton Freidman did Ronald Reagan the huge economic policy "fine tuning" for his campaign (darn it, Solar, I'm trying!!!!), IMO, Tim Scott is just hanging out there & needs help, some settled convictions, polished messaging, I'm not ready to give up on him YET.

I supported John James (MI race), he was left "hanging" by the GOP - RINOs - deep state scum.   But, James was hitting the high notes with ease, McConnell might have been scared of his potential...?  I sincerely want to see Patriotic, Constitutional Conservative Veterans run & get elected to office, it maybe the key to our survival as a nation.

If Tim Scott has to pander, just to get on the political radar (cause he doesn't have the bucks) - well, you gotta start somewhere.

I wanted to like him early on, but he kept going along with RINO.

He supported this crap...

2020/12/22   So-called COVID relief bill and $1.4 trillion special interest spending
2020/12/11   Pass the National Defense Authorization Act without Section 230 reforms
2020/05/14   Require the government to obtain a warrant before using FISA courts to spy on Americans
2019/05/23   Pass a $19 billion spending bill without funding for the border crisis
2018/12/19   Release dangerous criminals from federal prisons
2018/12/11   Pass a $900 billion farm bill with socialist policies
2018/09/18   Pass a promise-breaking cromnibus before the election

It gets worse...

This sounds like the party getting behind Bush in 1999 to stop anyone else. NO to Scott.

Hoofer

Yeah, I read ALL of it.  Concerned, ABSOLUTELY...  Tim Scott is better than Lindsey Graham by twice the CR score.

Lindsey Graham = 31% (an "F")
Tim Scott = 66% (a "D")

You're gonna hate me for saying this - "Who you gonna run in South Carolina, and keep it in the RED camp?"  If Lindsey Graham is virtually unbeatable on name recognition, then Tim Scott, who's *gaining* in name recognition is worth keeping around, and yeah... he's a RINO-lite, gonna give up some bad votes now and then.   Sigh...  it's a pickle, South Carolina... the state that gave us Nikki Haley.

https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/the-inconsequential-nikki-haley/

"Her messaging confirms what many have long suspected: Nikki Haley is a human weathervane, trying to ingratiate herself to the boss (she knows Trump will remain a popular figure within Republican politics for years to come) while at the same time distancing herself from his most controversial actions. And, of course, it wouldn't be good, old-fashioned Washington gunslinging if she didn't pin the blame on somebody else. In this case, it was former secretary of state Rex Tillerson and former White House chief of staff John Kelly—portrayed by Haley as duplicitous snakes who sought to undermine the president behind his back.

Haley's penchant for tearing down her former coworkers is rivaled only by her sense of self-importance. By all indications, she truly believes she is on the right side of history, dutifully following the orders of the boss down to the last detail and standing up for what she believes is in the best interests of the American people. One can take serious issue with her glowing assessment of the Trump administration's foreign policy—its approach to Iran, for instance, has been a total and complete dumpster fire that nearly set the stage for a shooting war in the Persian Gulf last summer. Many will also have a difficult time disagreeing that Haley's tenure at the United Nations was a lackadaisical and ineffective affair. If there were any major concrete achievements during her nearly two years at the Security Council, they are very hard to pin down."

Haley sounded like she *had* potential - "the Human Weather Vane"  great description!
IMO, Graham needs to go - that leaves an open seat in SC - and I'm fearful it'll get a Dem Liberal-lite-sounding, far worse than Haley or Graham ever could be.  We need Scott, far more than either of them, and ... if Supersale (who lives there) is right about Scott being a "straight shooter" - he's an UPGRADE.

OK - go ahead, and say, "WHAT!?!? Why are you endorsing a RINO-lite, Pandering, *black* man??? for Senate", etc. - As a Senator, he can fine tune his message, get the wishy-washy votes "fixed"... I'm not ready to throw him under the bus... I think there's hope.  If he gains in grass roots support (and recognizes he's not representing the Swamp, but the people who elected him), Tim Scott might be more ...ah, ahem... *acceptable*...?

Back to the article on Haley - well written IMO - and sort of *mirrors* Tim Scott's rise, without the *fire* Haley's known for (like an electrical fire - Bang - Pop - what the hell was that??).

"But as she seeks to reenter politics and polishes her record, it is only fair to scrutinize her time as America's top diplomat at the world's most renowned multilateral organization. Haley may think Washington is "toxic," "political," and "trashy" now, but in a few years' time, none of us should be shocked to see the former governor hobnobbing with donors, sounding out consultants, and preparing for a presidential campaign of her own. Given the way she's operated over the last week, it would be more shocking if she decided to stay out of the political dogfight".

I don't want to see Tim Scott following a similar path as Haley has - but, you're probably correct - his pandering, a REAL concern, might be signaling he's not what we wanted to begin with.  "Ouch!" - am I getting soft...?  I'm not ready to give up on his Senatorial aspirations - Presidential hopes, absolutely NOT ready, don't trust him at all.

Tim Scott needs to PROVE himself in the Senate, not as a moderate, but a true Conservative - and it better not be modeled after Haley or Graham!  Maybe Thomas Sowell or someone like that could mentor him.... (that guy is really smart, read "Vision of the Anointed or Basic Economics").

-edit-  Where is Supersale...?  He needs to weigh in on this, it's HIS state.

I get it, you'll settle for RINO. I won't, ever again, it's that settling that got us where we are today. We either stand our ground and boot these scum, or we'll continue to compromise.
I think the problem is, you're basing your views on old data. Anyone can win any state, now that we've caught the cheaters.
There is never ever reason to settle, look at Loeffler, she is what happened when we settle and the 30% DNC cheat is added, you have a loss or RINO, but no gain.

We either stand our ground and elect Conservatives or nothing will change. We need to be electing the guy next door, the guy who doesn't give a fuck about power or kissing ass in DC, no, he won't go their on our dime because he hates commies as much as we do. The GOP RINO is as much the enemy as the Marxist, they only care about power for profit, it's time to end the cycle.
But nah, I don't hate yah for it, but you need to stop compromising at some point in time or we'll be electing another Nixon in the future, "Rinse and Repeat".

Scott may be a nice guy, but his voting record exposes sever compromise and lack of ethics, and comparing a pedophile to a serial killer for comparison, doesn't help your case all that much, I wouldn't want either living in my neighborhood, let alone Representing my district.

Who else is there...?   He's "our" RINO - I'm trying to view this from a practical angle, an upgrade from Graham.  I don't know if "electability" is being considered here, Scott .. is kinda mushy, IMO.

Here in Virginia, we got the Governor's race coming up, and we're gonna LOSE to Terry (clinton) McAuliffe again.  He's very charismatic, extremely partisan Marxist, a complete control freak, and worst of all, POWER DRIVEN, in short, he thinks he's "god".

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mcauliffe-opponents-struggle-to-break-through-in-virginia/ar-BB1gfOsc
McAuliffe opponents struggle to break through in Virginia

"The three Black Democratic gubernatorial candidates — all current and former state elected officials with deep Virginia roots — are struggling to gain broad traction with voters. And despite entering the race more than a year in advance, none has topped 10 percent among voters, according to recent polling, or garnered enough name recognition to effectively challenge McAuliffe."

IMO - South Carolina has the same problem.  Name recognition, traction, who the hell is Tim Scott?
We don't have the media on our side, just ask any one to NAME a politician from SC - they *think* Miss Lindsey Graham, Nikki Haley ... and that black pandering dude, Tim Scott.  Name recognition is costing us seats, we've either got to come up with a better system to bypass the media - something that WORKS, or we'll forever be watching DEMOCRATS slither into office.

How the hell did Tim Scott ever get that Senate seat to begin with?  ...a reasonably articulate, black man, who's ... politics is hell.  nobody cares where this nation is going, until it effects them personally, and then they're placated with a $1400 check that'll cost their children $14,000 to pay off.  It SUCKS, I know it.  I'd rather take a small win in the right direction, Tim Scott as SENATOR, not President, the percentages moving in our direction.

OK, maybe that medication is effecting my brain   I still think Scott has potential in OUR camp.

Remember Shelby Steele?  What went wrong there?

I'm hoping this little speech by Tim Scott is his own "wake up call" to get firmly on the Consitutional Conservative camp, and not a huge YANK towards RINOism ... still gonna stand on my "wait and see" position, at least he's an upgrade - but, I hope Graham doesn't ruin him.

You're not getting it. The GOP forced him on the constituency, as if they have no other option, it's what these commies do, they literally kill off the good guys, then prop their guy up to look like a savior.
He's not! His appearance was planned long ago, giving him the rebuttal speech was all part of their plan.
You can't tell me there isn't another true patriot waiting in the wings, as the GOP suck the air out of the room headlining their RINO!

Th trick is not to fall for this shit "We have no options", that's what these RINO do, elect our guy, or you get a Dim. So what, we get stuck with a Dim, and the GOP will be held fully accountable!
