US State Department OKs Possible $23 Billion Sale of F-35s to Japan



WASHINGTON—The U.S. State Department said on Thursday it had approved the possible sale of 105 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets to Japan at an estimated cost of $23 billion.

The Japanese request included 63 F-35A and 42 F-35B aircraft, 110 Pratt and Whitney F135 engines, and related equipment, it said, and implementation of the proposed sale, including technical support and training, would take 25 years.

Good move. The Japanese have embraced capitalism and can be trusted. It frees up US troops to come home or deploy to more needed areas.

I guess damn near the whole world thought hillary was going to win. The whole dossier was based on that, Russia thought it, China thought it. I'm guessing Israel got it right, I'm sure they have their own polling here, too much to depend on not to. Europe thought it, but who cares. Hell, for all the countries that were giving payola under the table, not getting any more aid just puts them in the same boat, don't it?

They did embrace capitalism in the past but not anymore. If I'm not mistaken, Japan is a social democracy. That's a mixed economy, hell they listen to Paul Krugman who's definitely not pro market
