They are discussing some internal reasons why Yugoslavia failed, but they are also right regarding the external factors.

Balkans are "European Middle East", or should I say Middle East and Balkans are one and the same region, or Balkans are mirroring Middle East at least. So there are different kinds of peoples who are genuinely one and the same, but they got some historical, political, and religious issues through the centuries, which makes them excellent playground for the world powers to excercise their high politics.

But he can't talk about Kosovo just after the WWII. He must take into consideration that the vast majority of Serbs sided with the Allies, and the vast majority of Albanians sided with the Nazis during WWII. And also, he must take into consideration that during the Turkish Ottoman Empire, most of Albanians sided with the Turks against the Serbs. That was when the conflict in Kosovo begun, and not during the 1990s.
