My wife drinks filtered water.  I don't don't as I hate cold water she keeps in the fridge. But I kinda hoping our Philly tap water is safe as I drink lots and lots of coffee too. Check this piece out.

When we lived in Milwaukee metro (18yrs), having married and moved there from the farms, we both had problems with city water (they said Milwaukee has some of the best).

Wifey and I got a Distiller.  But with all the minerals removed from distilled water, it had "no taste".
I set up a filter, packed with Limestone Gravel from our family farm, where the hardness is 36... LOL.
Would run the water through the filter, and the taste was 100% better.
We've been using this method of adding Calcium & hardness to our water, everywhere we live, but, just for the kitchen faucet.   Even our neighbors commented how good our well water tastes.

Like you, I don't drink COLD water.  Tough to make a great cup of Tea, if all you got is crappy water.

The big thing now, is ionized water.  Ionization raises the pH to between 8.5 and 10.
I drink it because it tastes good, but I see no real benefit outside of being refreshing.
That said, I am used to my Well Water, which is as clean as a whistle.

LOL... I changed the filters & limestone LAST NIGHT - we have the inlaws over next week.
So, it's been 2+ years since we changed it last, we had some significant breakdown of the limestone, about 1/3 of it left (started as packed full).

Taste test - water tastes like "nothing", but, on the "sweet side" instead of bitter, which is common for this area.
