Mustard? Ketchup? Naked? Something else?

Mustard and Katchup sound gross. Ive sometimes added a fried egg to mine, and my dad sometimes adds fried ham on his grilled cheese.
The real question in my house growing up was do you like to use Mayo, Miracle Whip, or Butter on the bread before you fry it?

If you don't have that, you do not have the foundation of a grilled cheese sandwich. Anything else is too fancy.

Fried egg?
We want grilled cheese, not an Egg-Mcmuffin.

Ketchup? Mustard?
That goes on a hot dog.

"Book burnings" have evolved into "de-plat forming". Its the same principles behind both: to eliminate accessible knowledge.

Solar makes one of the best cheese sandwiches.  He fries the cheese and we only use Tillamook Sharp cheddar.

Always butter on the outside, except for that brief margarine flirtation about fifty years ago.
I've tried both mustard or ketchup on the inside before grilling. That can be delicious. I do
favor cheddar cheese, the sharper the better, but I've grilled many varieties to my satisfaction.

This discussion is making me hungry.

I will be looking for Tillamook. Since we are sort of close to Cabot,
that is often our cheese of choice. Bonus being, the local grocery
chain's store brand supplier then supplies that grocery chain with
the closest thing to Cabot, while all the other, smaller fromagers
continue to produce cheddars to die for. So please, don't eat too much!
