I live in the midlands of SC. Gas prices here have risen $.30 since the week before Christmas, from around $1.90 to $2.20 for regular, so about a 15% increase; some spots more, some less, but even Costco and Sam's had similar price increases. Any ideas on what may be driving this? Is it all from the pipeline construction being shut down?
Lefties...

Quit bitchin, we're upwards of $3.40 a gallon in Norcal, Bay area close to $5.00. and that's the cheap shit.
I believe a plank in the democrat party is that energy prices will necessarily skyrocket.....

Crude oil prices have risen since your time frame and about the same 15%-20%. Some of it is because of anticipation of the pipeline action by Biden. Another issue for you in SC could be gas tax hikes. I live in WNC and very familiar with how much cheaper gas used to be in SC. Beginning with Beasley governors have been supporting tax hikes.

SC is on a multi-year ramp up of gas taxes to eventually double what it was before the increases started, but the increase is only about $0.02/gallon each year. I agree with you that crude oil price increases most likeky drive this...
Yesterday prices here in my part of Utah jumped 40 cents a gallon. Since the election it has thus gone up 1 dollar a gallon.
We are only up 60 cents, here in So Cal.

I see diesel has jumped 50 ¢ a gallon. In my area in the South/East side of Washington state, so it must be much higher on the West side of the state.
When b o was in office I would pay 1$ more on the West sided of the state then the South/East side.

We just had another increase last week, regular unleaded is $2.50; Premium is $3.10 - 3.20. Diesel is up to $3 most places. Oil prices have
doubled since the election... SC traditionally has had generally lower prices so it must be worse in other places :cursing:
I travel over 500 miles per week commuting to work and back, this is a significant increase for me...

As I recall, Bejing said in a speech that he had plans to increase taxes rather than lower them. This is only the beginning of the price increases that we will see under a Bejing/Komrad administration. Bejing has killed thousands of jobs with the killing of the pipelines. Surely making America dependent again on foreign countries will not lower prices.
Well diesel has just jumped 35 ¢ more a gallon in my area. I see it back up to 5$ a gallon soon.
as the economy tanks its is going to be entertaining watching the MSM try to blame Trump for it.
And as the idiots that voted for Biden pay more for everything week by week it will be quite pleasurable listening to their wailing's and lamentations.
Remember when gas was under $1?
Not quite that old but I do remember when there were gas wars at 28 cents.

I remember well my Dad pulling into a Gas station, handing the attendant a $5.00 bill and telling them to "fill 'er up"...

That was back in the day when they would check the air pressure, oil, clean the windshield, etc.

...and they'd pump the oil into a glass jar, with a funnel on it, show it to you before they poured it in.
I remember asking my dad, "What's 10w-30...? Don't we take SAE30?"
And its up another 10 cents as of yesterday.

Well hold onto your hat folks cause, it's going to get a lot higher. Bejing and his cohort have killed the pipeline, want to abolish fracking and want to force people to get electric automobiles. I expect the price of gas to get much higher...
Diesel prices have dropped in Danville, VA, from $2.89 to $2.69 since Wednesday.

They don't want to make the truck drive unhappy. If food don't move, people don't eat. It up over a $ in my area now thanks to Usurper.™

Diesel is 3.49 here at the lowest A far number have it over 3.65
Just paid $2.59 yesterday for Diesel in Danville, VA.
Regular gas is $2.44 at the same place.
That's till up from last year, when Diesel was $1.59~1.79. It we had a couple of weeks where Diesel was as cheap as gas - nobody was going anywhere, and if you wanted to, everything was closed up.

Diesel in my area just jumped 25¢ from last week, it's now over 3$ per gal.
Drove to Knoxville, TN and saw most Diesel prices around $2.99~3.05 a gallon.
A lot of signs has that 6 cents cheaper for cash along the interstate...
.. but, there was one Flying J, $3.05 for Cash & $3.40 for credit!
We found a couple of places @ $2.79 and filled up.
Diesel prices in southern Virginia are $2.57~2.89 while Regular gas is in the $2.45~2.79 range.
I gas up my work truck 3-4 times per week, in Roanoke, Lynchburg, Danville areas. Danville is usually the cheapest, Roanoke the highest by a few cents.
Oddly enough, the Sheetz stations' fuel prices vary widely - where I gas up the most, and prices between them in the same city, even a mile away vary... wonder why that is? I don't know! You'd think 2 stations, a mile or two apart, same ownership, I assume - would be sort of synched up in prices, but seldom are.

Same here with the grocery store I buy gas from. There are 4 stores in the county that sells gas and the prices vary. I am thinking it is a sound business practice that allows the local store manager to set prices based on area competition rather than big brother dictating pricing.

Don't forget the high taxing of gas.
What everyone needs to realize is that much of it is due to the value of our currency declining. Of course becoming a net importer instead of the net exporter of energy that we were under Trump has a drastic impact too. It's a great step in the effort to destroy a nation, our nation.
Unleaded Regular in SC Midlands is $2.56 - $2.70 a gallon. Diesel is $2.90 - $3.10 a gallon. Gas price increase is now at $0.70 per gallon more than at the end of the year. This includes an additional $0.02/gallon tax increase by the state.

My last field job was the state of SC. Had the lowest gas prices around as I live in NC. However, SC has raised its gas taxes and prices and now much closer to NC.
