I live in the midlands of SC. Gas prices here have risen $.30 since the week before Christmas, from around $1.90 to $2.20 for regular, so about a 15% increase; some spots more, some less, but even Costco and Sam's had similar price increases.  Any ideas on what may be driving this?  Is it all from the pipeline construction being shut down?

Crude oil prices have risen since your time frame and about the same 15%-20%.  Some of it is because of anticipation of the pipeline action by Biden. Another issue for you in SC could be gas tax hikes. I live in WNC and very familiar with how much cheaper gas used to be in SC. Beginning with Beasley governors have been supporting tax hikes.

SC is on a multi-year ramp up of gas taxes to eventually double what it was before the increases started, but the increase is only about $0.02/gallon each year.  I agree with you that crude oil price increases most likeky drive this...

Yesterday prices here in my part of Utah jumped 40 cents a gallon. Since the election it has thus gone up 1 dollar a gallon.

Rick

We are only up 60 cents, here in So Cal.

I see diesel has jumped 50 ¢ a gallon.  In my area in the South/East side of Washington state, so it must  be much higher on the West side of the state.

When b o was in office I would pay 1$ more on the West sided of the state then the South/East side.

We just had another increase last week, regular unleaded is $2.50; Premium is $3.10 - 3.20.  Diesel is up to $3 most places. Oil prices have doubled since the election... SC traditionally has had generally lower prices so it must be worse in other places :cursing:

I travel over 500 miles per week commuting to work and back, this is a significant increase for me...

As I recall, Bejing said in a speech that he had plans to increase taxes rather than lower them. This is only the beginning of the price increases that we will see under a Bejing/Komrad administration. Bejing has killed thousands of jobs with the killing of the pipelines. Surely making America dependent again on foreign countries will not lower prices.

as the economy tanks its is going to be entertaining watching the MSM try to blame Trump for it.

And as the idiots that voted for Biden pay more for everything week by week it will be quite pleasurable listening to their wailing's and lamentations.
