John Murtha's death was sooo inconvenient.  So Penny Pritzker has no choice but to appoint herself Relevancy Czarina...

The airport is the ultimate example of outrage over pork-spending (the 'Bridge To Nowhere') leads to more pork-spending as we in DC promise to stop ourselves from pork-spending one li'l ol' last time.

The Murtha Airport has been receiving our tax-money ever since.  As this 2009-article went to press, the airport had received 800-grand in TARP-funds on top of the 150-million already spent:

All this for three flights and twenty passengers a day.

Most planes that arrive have empty seats, despite being subsidized for $100 a seat.

With three flights, you might think this is an airport with a runway and not much else. However, it has extra runways, a restaurant and lounge – all empty most of the time. Then there is the air traffic controller with nothing to do but wait for one of the three flights.

That was 7 years ago.  I'm too scared to search for how much more tax-money we've wasted the a 2-bit County-airport... for 'capital improvement', 'infrastructure', and police patrolling empty grounds.  Hey, John.  TEA doesn't miss you in the slightest.

It seems there was plenty of outrage at the time, but almost nothing written about it since 2010. I wonder if business has picked up at all....

For the record: Although the bridge to nowhere has not been built, the access roads to said bridge were built. Ms. Palin approved this part of the project.
