My apologies, I meant to post this when it broke, but with over 20 tabs open, I forgot about it.

From everything I've read, this new battery is a game changer, even lose freezing temps, weighs about 70% less and costs a whole lot less than clunky Lithium.
Hell, I may buy one, considering I have an overabundance of solar going to waste daily.
Oh, and it never needs replacing.

It's 2025, and the game just changed. Tesla has unveiled its long-awaited Super Aluminum-Ion Battery, a groundbreaking technology that could end the solid-state battery race before it even begins. But what makes this new battery so revolutionary, and how does it compare to existing technologies like solid-state? Most importantly, what does this mean for Tesla owners and the EV industry as a whole?

Tesla's $17,999 Tesla Model C is expected to be the first to feature this new super aluminum-ion battery. This affordable EV will dominate the mass market, offering long range and high performance without the hefty price tag. Solid-state batteries could never achieve this at such a price point.

The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are expected to follow in 2026, also adopting this super battery technology. Expect dramatically lower prices, faster charging times, and extended range, making them even more competitive against traditional gasoline cars.

If this is really happening, then yes, I agree we should by one...  Toy
I pray, not wish because I have a God not a Genie.

We don't have the infrastructure to support electric cars. We should be focusing on more efficient cars. If some country wants to trade with us, why not import something like a Dacia Sandero (a hatchback)?

Also, remember that time cold weather froze Teslas in their tracks? Plus, I don't really want to have to deal with a left wing international terrorist damaging my car because he didn't like the CEO.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street I'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.
This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
How come nobody was interested in educating people about these rights until online videos got monetization?

Try some research. In the 1880's, when the automobile was just getting popular, there were dozens if not hundreds of electric car company's. Buy 1930, they had all gone out of business. No body say's why. Is this mistake being repeated?
I dream of the day a chicken can cross the road with out it's motives being questioned.

There you go again, with your "Knee Jerking" responses. This isn't about the car, inasmuch as it is with new battery technology!
You never read a thing, let alone read the article. You do realize, this typical lib behavior, read the headline and think you have all the answers!

If you want to buy a Tesla, and be like every Liberal with their left wing bumper stickers, go right ahead.

Don't worry: I will not vandalize it. I was raised right.

It is already known, that Elon has the power to disable a Tesla. Think about when every foreign auto maker shuts us down. Control. Spies on us with their cameras. Control. Makes you pay for common features that were normal a few years ago. Control.

Battery technology is good, but batteries don't last forever no matter how great they are. I would NEVER fly in an electric airplane.

Had you bothered to read the article, they claim it's a million mile battery.
Just imagine buying batteries that you never throw away.
I now live cheaper off the grid than you do. Yes, I only run the generator one hour in the winter, and that gives me 2 days of power. Screw Green, this is about living cheaper than anyone in the US.
Right now, we haven't needed the generator in over a week, even cloudy days still give us a full charge.

What? You think that new Subby you just bought isn't tracking your every move, that it can't be shut down remotely?
Man, you truly are gullible!

Must  be nice. as you all know solar is location dependent. MN is the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" which means 10,000 clouds. solar makes no sense here. I once worked in Buffalo NY in the winter. In Feb i did not see the sun for 3 weeks. No clouds just haze.

I had the first street legal electric minibike in Sacramento in 1970.
I used to drive 11 miles to work every day, it made it to work where it was literally limping into work.
Plugged it in all day and drove home.
Granted, it weighed 700 lbs with two 200 lb batteries and a beefy steel frame. Got pulled over several times, cops didn't believe it was legal, then they'd laugh and move on.
It was novel, but in truth, kinda worthless, with a top speed of 28 Mph.

    I know what you mean, Sac valley is the same, always overcast in the Winter.
Yeah, I live in the Sierra, though we have heavy snows, we're way above the valley fog, so if there's no precip, we're sunny.
