Multicolored thanks to the curtains in the front room with mild greys and charcoals from the coal shed. I also have a pair of orange shorts donated by that nice lady in number 42. The one with the limp and small dog named Darryl.

Welcome CG. The reason for the thread was to give Cave members a welcome environment in which too post while their site was down.
They'd been hacked and looked as if it might be awhile before it was restored, and that goes for all the Conservative sites that had a DDOS attack.
They are all welcome.

Libs infested it? I take it, they chose the road of no moderation and let the children have their way?
I have seen thhat happen to a few sites, people think libs generate traffic, when in truth, they degenerate the conversation to that of a 7 yro and people leave.
In my opinion, and only my opinion, the site slipped from becoming a good site to just being so-so, and they also let libs go way too far before booting them from the site. Some people there liked to play with the libs, but doing that doesn't fall within my realm of "having fun".
And I remembered why I left: The Mod of the military section there wouldn't state that he did or did not support military wannabes - especially the ones getting medals for things they never did. And the Admin pooh-pooed it. So I departed.
They tried to get me back, but once I leave a site I never return. Period.

I don't think it was run by Libertarians; I just had some problems with the management of the site. A fellow Coast Guard vet and I had some shared misgivings about the place. He left, too.

I was on Conservative Cave though posting rather infrequently. I registered here with my CC forum name several days ago but I doubt anyone will recognize me from CC. Between lurking around to scope out CPF and a 1200 mile trip the past couple of days (posting to a discussion forum while driving isn't a good idea), this is my first post.
From what I've seen on another forum the story is that the DDOS attack brought down Conservative Cave (and at least one other conservative forum I'm aware of) and afterward their host dropped them. Last I heard they were trying to find another host, though after this much time I'm not sure that is still the case.

Interesting, when I did a search for Conservative cave, we were the first listed in google, I had to go way down the page to find a link, only to find, you are correct, they're still down.

Yeah, something is really strange here.
If anyone tied directly to the ownership of conservative cave is reading this, I have a proposal.
I'll pay to host you on my server to get you back up and running, just PM me here with the pertinent details.
That hosting company really screwed them. I'd normally not care, but it was a conservative forum, and we need more conservative media, so I hope that provider rots in hell. They built up a nice member base, and now they had to scatter. I know Conservative Underground is taking care of them until they're back up, but it's still a crappy situation for them.
The bigger question, is why aren't they back up and running?

My total guess is they may not be tech savvy enough. It doesn't take long to get a forum up and running. If it were me:
- find some forum software you like and just get it up on a hosting platform.
- while you're rebuilding your base, get your old servers up
- then start a migration plan to get all your old boards/threads back and re-map your old members to the new members.
It would be a project, but totally doable for them.

Bingo! The members would be tickled just to have their site back, up and running, the archives could come later.

I'm a member over yonder, but it's been >6 months since I registered. Sounds like they use a Captcha to screen out bots from registering. It should show a graphic image with a mix of stylized alphanumeric characters. It should also give you options to change to a different image and to do it using sound. I'll try to let an admin over there know about your problem.
But as Solar said, there're some really good people here, so even if you manage to register there, keep posting here, too.

I am in. An admin there completed my registration process.
Thanks all.
The issue may have been something else, but while the current proliferation of browsers has been generally a good thing for users, they can do identical things differently, leading to compatibility quirks. It can be a PITA for website developers who, in addition to the two most widely used - FF and IE - have to check site compatibility with Chrome, Safari, Opera, and Iron. And I have no clue what the browser is that Samsung uses on its Galaxy series tablets (I'm using one right now), though I suspect it's based on Chromium, a generic browser created by Google, on which Chrome is based, as is Iron.

Also because liberal BS has a way of ruining a good forum and it's a useless distraction. In other words, we have a lot better things to do than watch a train wreck.

Yes like restoring our Constitutional Republic. That's serious, and important work for us to be doing. AND something we ourselves should be giving our undivided attention too.
Because, if not careful, lest things we think are conservative, which are actually liberal and a part of our Constitutional Republic intentionally, like say freedom of speech for example.
Does not as some conservatives think should be the case "get thrown out with the baby in the bathwater" so to speak.
Note: When I say "conservatives" I am not referring to anyone here, or at the cave, I refer to the national political stage"...Where "conservatives" (whom real conservatives) know are "rinos" like Lindsey Graham, and John McCain have actually endorsed bills which curtail free political speech...etc.
