Why are they finally admitting failure?


Natural immunity from prior infection granted stronger levels of protection against the Delta variant of COVID-19 than vaccination alone, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a study released Wednesday.

Before Delta became dominant, individuals who had natural immunity were experiencing higher case rates than individuals who were only vaccinated, the study found, but after Delta took hold, those with natural immunity caught COVID-19 less frequently than those who were only vaccinated.

They (Democrats, including almost everyone at the CDC) have to clean up at least part of the astounding mess they've made of the nation over the past two years. It took them long enough, but they're finally seeing that there is no light at the end of the tunnel they built for us all.

Worst of all, the mid-terms are coming, and the prospects for anyone to the left of, say, Greg Abbott are becoming thin. There will be many Terry McAuliffes before it's done.

Yeah, they may run to the Right, but everyone knows how they would govern. I don't think the left has any chance of getting elected without fraud.

These statistical fights are pointless. There was too much bullshit far too early in the game. NOBODY knew twenty months ago the actual COVID caseload, and NOBODY knows today, though we surely have more information.

This lack of a baseline is what led to the ridiculous (criminal?) early estimates of COVID mortality. Calculating things like case mortality rates is simple arithmetic. A fourth-grader can do it. But obtaining an accurate and meaningful assessment of the actual caseload for a pathogen like SARS-CoV-2 is simply not possible; every effort will fall far short, which means that the claimed mortality rate will always be sharply higher than actuality.

Mortality rates are single-term fractions. But if you don't have even a vague idea of the value of your denominator (the actual caseload), then inserting a numerator and presenting the result as fact is simply lying. We have been systematically and consistently lied to for nearly two years about COVID mortality.
