This  is the  first time for  each. Its historically  far  left politically. The dem collapse  continues.

I am pretty sure Georgetown, SC is not liberal. This is probably a hold over of the south converting to the GOP.

Its a small liberal town in a  conservative  county.

"Georgetown is a town in South Carolina with a population of 8,866. Georgetown is in Georgetown County. Living in Georgetown offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. Many families live in Georgetown and residents tend to be liberal."

I respectfully disagree. I have worked with folks in Georgetown and is is not liberal. There is an ultra rich enclave north of Georgetown that probably has some libs.

I disagree even more. There  is a reason this is the first  rep mayor and  city  council.

BTW, in the deep south it is not unusual that some local politicians to still identify as democrats. They bear no semblance of national democrats.

I would like to expand on this a little. This county has about 30% Black population. Historically, we know that demographic has tended to vote democrat. It is not because they are necessarily liberal. We are seeing this "black vote" adjusting their support and this was probably a factor in this election.
