President Donald Trump announced plans to reform or potentially eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during a visit to Hurricane Helene-ravaged North Carolina on Friday. Trump criticized FEMA's response and pledged to expedite recovery efforts in the aftermath of the hurricane, which struck more than four months ago.

Key Details:

During his visit, Trump said he intends to sign an executive order to reform FEMA, calling the agency ineffective. He also suggested that eliminating FEMA could be a possibility.

Trump promised federal assistance to expedite recovery in North Carolina, where thousands of families remain in temporary housing funded by FEMA. The agency recently extended its Transitional Housing Assistance (TSA) program deadline to May 26th, helping over 3,000 families.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that only half of the debris from Hurricane Helene has been cleared, further highlighting delays in recovery efforts.

Good Riddance to FEMA.

We had a bad experience with them.  There was a hurricane here a few years ago.  Water poured into our top floor, soaked through to our second floor. The damage was pretty bad.

My neighbor had her garage roof blown away.
My neighbor and I filled out and submitted the online FEMA request just an hour apart.
We both got immediate confirmation that it was received.
Then we waited.  And waited.  And waited.
We both tried calling, got sent to voice mail, left messages.  We did this every week for 3 weeks.

Here it is 2025 and we are still waiting for FEMA to reply.

Shut them down, President Trump, with our Blessing.

I too dealt with FEMA a couple of decades ago, never expecting a cent, about 6 months later I got a check in the mail. I was shocked, because I just assumed I'd been refused. even though the money was a surprise, I had already paid out of pocket for the damage. People can't wait that long for money!

Check out Trump kicking ass in LA.
