Secret Service Exchanged Gunfire With Man at Trump's Florida Golf Club; CNN Confirms Trump Was Target


Donald Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after agents opened fire on a man who was spotted with what may have been a gun while the former president was on the links, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said the Secret Service spotted a suspicious individual on the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach, and opened fire when agents saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun.

It's not clear whether the man was on the course or near it.

An agent opened fire, shooting multiple times.

The man was later arrested by local police.

Ryan Wesley Routh pushed the muzzle of his rifle through the fence line at Trump's golf course before Secret Service agents fired at him.

Law enforcement said the gunman was about 300 to 500 yards away from Trump. He was hiding in the shrubbery when he pointed his rifle with a scope through the fence.

According to law enforcement, Secret Service agents were one to two holes ahead of Trump when they spotted the muzzle of the rifle.

According to reporters for The AP, there are several areas around the perimeter of Trump's golf course where golfers are visible from the fence line.

It appears the would-be assassin exploited a vulnerable part of the property's perimeter.

Ryan Wesley Routh ran out of the bushes and escaped in a black vehicle but he was arrested in Martin County.

Law enforcement said charges against Ryan Wesley Routh are pending.

Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Sept. 15, 2024.
Trump sent out a statement to supporters soon after to report that he was "SAFE AND WELL."
The suspect — identified as Ryan Routh, 58, of Hawaii — was able to get within 300 to 500 yards of Trump at a chain link fence on the edge of the course, where he had an AK-47 and a GoPro camera set up, apparently to record the planned shooting.
Routh has a history of supporting progressive causes online and has made 19 donations to Democratic candidates since 2019.
A Secret Service agent spotted and opened fire on Routh as he put his gun through the fence. The suspect fled and was arrested on I-95 a short time later.
According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, Trump's security detail was lighter because he isn't a sitting president — despite the previous attempt on his life in July.

Yep, and my question is why wasn't there sensors on the fence, they've been around for more than 50 years that could trigger a camera alert.
The Govt knew all of this, they and Trump's security are really the only ones with this knowledge.
Who disabled the sensors?
Will Trump's footage suddenly have a blank spot for several days while they set this up?
