Minnesota National Guard confirms Tim Walz' demotion, contradicting campaign claims

MXM Exclusive

The Minnesota National Guard has confirmed that Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris' vice presidential running mate, was demoted and did not retire as a command sergeant major, as he has claimed. The revelation calls into question the accuracy of his official gubernatorial and campaign biographies.

Key Details:

The Minnesota National Guard stated Walz retired as a master sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes due to not completing coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.

Controversy surrounding Walz's military record began during his 2018 gubernatorial campaign when he was accused of avoiding deployment to Iraq in 2005 by retiring early.

Walz's official biography inaccurately claims he retired as a command sergeant major.

Diving Deeper:

The Minnesota National Guard confirmed on Wednesday that Governor Tim Walz, currently Kamala Harris' vice presidential running mate, did not retire with the rank of command sergeant major, contradicting years of his claims, including statements in his official gubernatorial biography. According to a report by Just the News, Walz temporarily held the title but ultimately retired as a master sergeant in 2005. Army Lt. Col. Kristen Augé, the State Public Affairs Officer for the Minnesota National Guard, explained that Walz did not complete necessary coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, leading to his demotion.

This revelation has reignited controversy that dates back to Walz's 2018 gubernatorial campaign. During that time, National Guardsmen asserted on social media and in a paid advertisement that Walz declined to deploy to Iraq in 2005, forfeiting his title of command sergeant major in the process. Instead, Walz chose to run for Congress that year. His official biography, available on the state's website, inaccurately describes him as having retired from the Minnesota National Guard in 2005 as "Command Sergeant Major Walz," when in reality, his final rank was master sergeant.

Lt. Col. Augé clarified Walz's service record, stating, "Governor Tim Walz served from April 8th, 1981, to May 16, 2005. Governor Walz served in the Minnesota National Guard's 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery after transferring from the Nebraska National Guard in 1996." She added that Walz's failure to complete the required coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy led to his demotion to master sergeant for benefit purposes.

According to Army Regulation 600-8-19, a soldier who does not complete the required coursework must be demoted. The regulation reads, "The Soldier must complete the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Course as a condition of this promotion. Failure to meet the condition will cause demotion per AR 600 – 8 – 19."

Walz's military record has come under scrutiny before. During his 2018 gubernatorial campaign, retired senior officials from the Minnesota National Guard criticized him for retiring just before his battalion's deployment to Iraq. In an open letter posted on Facebook, two retired Command Sergeants Major accused Walz of abandoning his battalion at a critical time. One of the signers, Thomas Behrends, who replaced Walz, told the New York Post, "When your country calls, you are supposed to run into battle — not the other way. He ran away. It's sad." Behrends added, "He had the opportunity to serve his country and said 'Screw you' to the United States. That's not who I would pick to run for vice president."

I swear, since Fuglosi left, no one has been in charge. AOC said she won't help because she hates white people.
The hatred is palpable within their ranks. For decades the party was known to corral the worst of humanity's groups had to offer, they all agreed on one thing, bringing down the Right.

Now there's no one to herd cats and they're pissed and ready to turn on one another again.
