Manchin Signals He's Ready to Drive a Stake Through the Dems' Plan to Nuke the Filibuster
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) told reporters on Tuesday that backing any of the Democrats' planned changes to the Senate filibuster would be "very difficult."
Manchin was asked by Politico congressional reporter Burgess Everett in the halls of Congress about whether he opposes changing the Senate filibuster rules or invoking the "nuclear option" to remove it.
"I've never turned down talks with anybody. I really haven't. I was very clear on where I stand, and I thought it was time to do that, rather than just continue on and on as we have for five and a half months. I haven't changed from the first day when I talked to leader Schumer on that," he recalled, referencing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
SNIPPED~~~~
"Our country is divided. I don't intend to do anything that divides our country anymore," he said.

I am pleasantly surprised Manchin is sticking to his original position. Him being so out front now leads me to believe he is trying to get Schumer to move onto something else. I do not believe that will happen. Not because he thinks he can change Manchin, but to protect his own ass. I believe the stories he is petrified of being primaried by AOC are true.
Lets hope he stays strong.

I would buy tickets to watch that race.
The Manchin business is a reflection of something happening within the Democratic base, something we should be aware of, and take advantage of.
Namely .... their working class supporters are getting VERY uneasy at what the Democrats have begun to turn into -- not the party of FDR and JFK, or even the party of Bill Clinton, but the Party of Omar and AOC.
At the same time, the Republicans, for long the Chamber of Commerce Party, pioneering the export of American jobs ... has also changed, symmetrically.
We could be on the verge of a huge realignment in American politics. Or at least, a significant hemmoraging of the Democrat base over to the Republicans -- not just a temporary 'swing' vote by independents.
We need to think about how to help this process along.
Any ideas?

We're already in the process of purging the GOP, started with TEA.
There is no Dim party, they died several years back, the real evil lies within the GOP.
Seriously, if the DNC was a real threat, why did they resort to stealing an election. But more importantly, why didn't the GOP stand up for Trump and demand an investigation?
Because the RINO are the real threat to our Constitution. Purge all RINO, stop supporting these scum!
Only vote Conservative!!!

I am convinced this is the hardest message to get out there. IMHO, as people leave the democrat party, they are drawn to the rinos. This war to get rid of liberals will have to be fought twice.

Agree!
Sadly, those libs dumping the DNC are attracted to what they think are moderates, when in fact, they're RINO sellouts in it for their own interests.
