UPDATE: Vicky White has died.


PREVIOUS: Wanted fugitives Casey White and Vicky White have been captured in Evansville, Indiana.

They were captured after a pursuit ended in a crash. They were in a Cadillac.

Vicky White shot herself and is being taken to a hospital, Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding told WAAY 31's Brittany Harry.

She has serious injuries and was driving the car. She shot herself before crashing the car, Wedding said.

Casey White is in custody. He has minor injuries, according to Wedding.

The crash happened near the area of Highway 57 and Burch Road just off Highway 41 after a deputy with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office tried to pull over a Cadillac that was speeding down the highway.

The two have been missing since April 29. That's when Vicky White, the former Lauderdale County Detention Center assistant corrections director, took Casey White, an accused murderer, out of the jail for a fabricated court appearance. They have been on the run since.

She has since passed away. This is just a very sad story.

What the hell was she and he thinking...also while in prison this inmate had it made with her comprehensive services with him. I don't get it on both sides of their thinking.

I find it even more bizarre that she was second in charge at the facility.

Years ago I was working for a Sheriff department and a (married) female officer was having a sexual affair with one of the inmates in the jail.  He would tell her all the things she wanted to hear.  (You are so pretty and sexy. I would marry you if I could etc.)

They of course were found out and she lost her career and her husband.  Toy
