Poll workers at a key voting location in Arizona's Maricopa County announced Tuesday morning that voting machines at a polling station in Anthem are not working. A significant number of ballots are being misread, but election officials claim individuals are still able to cast their ballots properly.

As early Election Day results come in on Tuesday, it will likely appear that a Republican candidates vying for any number of the federal or statewide races appear to be leading their Democratic opponents, even by large margins.

Their leads will dwindle, or crumble completely, after perceived "dumps" of votes are recorded by state election officials who count mail-in and absentee ballots in the days -- or even weeks -- following Election Day

Update on maricopa

At least 20% of the polling stations on Tuesday in Arizona's Maricopa County have problems, according election officials.

The county's Elections Department posted a video on Twitter midday in which officials said they are working as quickly as possible to fix the issue, which is related to the machines' tabulators.

The locations of the stations reporting problems have not been released, but the problems have also been confirmed by Just the News. And the county Recorder's Officer has said that technicians have been called to fix the machines malfunctioning machines.

ALCOA, Tenn. (WATE) — Voting machines at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Alcoa were reportedly down the morning of Election Day but have since been repaired, according to the Blount County Election Commission.

An administrator with the Blount County Election Commission said Tuesday a port on the back of a machine was not communicating with the machine, causing the issue. Those who worked on the machine switched the port out and the machines were back up and running by 8:20 a.m.

The Washington Post reported that the mother said she attended the Jan. 6 rally at the Capitol.

In this Maricopa County video, the voter inserts his ballot into the tabulation machine. The poll worker instructs the voter there is a problem with his ballot. She explains one or more races have not been marked properly. The voter admits he made a mistake with the felt pen when marking the ballot. She influences him to accept the ballot in its current condition. He just needs to hit the green "Cast" button and his ballot will be accepted. Because there is a mistake on his ballot, the voter has no idea it will now go to adjudication. This often takes days.

This voter did have the option to complete a new ballot. But this was not explained properly. He needed to hit the red button to "Reject" the ballot. The tabulating machine would then spit out his ballot. The polling place spoils this ballot and issues the voter a new one. Because he was not properly informed, his ballot will go to adjudication. Every vote on his ballot will now be subject to change by a worker in the MCTEC (Maricopa) tabulation center.
