I don't think the Russian have any intention to roll over anyone. Most Russians are glad to be rid of the Soviet.
The Cold War is over. We have deadly enemies that we can't seem to admit want to kill us, we're being distracted by~Look, Look over there the Russians are coming.
They have the same enemy we have, they just admit it.

In Ukraine, Ukrainians have started the war, not Russians. Firstly, they have overthrown legally elected president, and then they have started molesting local Russians. So, Russia had an excuse to intervene, and even take back Crimea. Ukrainians have to re-think what they have done. If Russians want to bring back their former Soviet republics, they will surely wait for some situation like this one. But I have heard that Russia is economically standing better without the former Soviet republics.

That's the way it looked. Russia gave the Crimea to Ukraine in the 60ies I think I remember it being. Russia cannot afford a war, Yes, they supported the separatist, in Crimea as well as in one other area. Russia has not done this in areas where the separatist aren't Russian.

Stalin , in 1918 helped make a new country out of Armenian lands even broke off Armenian land on the east and west side of Armenia, putting that land inside of this new country, which is Muslim. When the Soviet began to break up this Muslim country began killing the Christians, many thousand died, in one small part the Christian Armenians were able to break free and separate. The Russians have not helped. They, the Russians have sold arms to the Armenians as well as to the Muslims who are trying to kill them to this day.
