Is this just more sensationalism, or is something actually happening? I ask because I'm not finding this story anywhere else on the web.
Though I think a lot of it is sensationalism, I think Trump is sending a message to NK as he makes the Asia tour.

USS Nimitz, USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS Ronald Reagan became the first trio of carriers to operate in the region for a decade.
Each of these three warship bring with it a fully stocked wing of up to 90 warplanes and choppers.

While steaming alongside are their escorts of destroyers and submarines making up the US's mighty carrier strike groups.

The US's 7th Fleet has its headquarters in Japan – and brings up to 70 ships and submarines under its command, including 14 missile-packed destroyers.
Just this week, a squadron of 12 F-35 fighter planes screamed over the Pacific and landed at their new base in Japan.

More than 100 bases are scattered across the islands, with around 50,000 servicemen stationed there.

Meanwhile, right on Kim's doorstep there are more than 30,000 US soldiers stations in bases in South Korea.

More than 300 tanks are stationed just a stone's throw from North Korea, along with armoured vehicles and artillery.

I wouldn't bother myself with North Korea, because they are just a puppet state, and they can do nothing on their own without the permission of China, Russia, and the United States. Historically, a great injustice was done to the Korean people, when Korea was divided into two parts after the WWII, basically a two puppet states. Then Stalin tried to take the advantage of the situation while South Korea was still unarmed to try to conquer it. But since the armistice was signed, from what I've learned so far, the Korean situation is mostly being used for media manipulation, for example to scare the people by the North Korean threats. And even more, I have heard that North Korea was given permission from the FED to print dollars, and that's the way they are sustaining themselves, because they are a Big Brother experiment. I don't believe that anyone will intervene against North Korea, except if their Big Brother experiment is to be terminated.

The problem is the consequences of "squashing" NK. This is our, The US's, fault as we have allowed this dictatorship to build a huge threat against SK and our interests in the Korean Peninsula. No doubt. China and Russia were willing to sit bakckand watch the USA allow this debacles.

Correct. What the generals wanted in the 50s as opposed to the politicians were two entirely different outcomes.
But the pols won and an armistice was created, not a peace treaty, but a one-sided ceasefire, only the south has held to the agreement while the north has been a continued aggressor, killing civilians in the south..

No, they weren't given permission, they were printing excellent forgeries, which is the reason, after many decades the fed started adding protections, and of late, visible changes to the greenback, to the point, it looked as if the TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" had designed that shit.
But back to NK. China was Hell bent on a buffer between them and the Capitalist West and with the help of Russia, they achieved that position, and to date, nothing has changed.
The Juche/commie state is still nothing but a minefield for the US, a rabid Chiuaua on a chain, threatening to bite its neighbors and piss all over the place.

Yes, Kim is a product of China, he does not eat, or bark without their permission. This is something the entire world is aware of, yet everyone plays along with the charade, and why? Is beyond me, they all need to come together and ignore NK and call China to the carpet and give them an ultimatum, either disarm the little runt, or you'll have the West sitting on your doorstep.
