Hackers trace ISIS Twitter accounts back to internet addresses linked to Department of Work and Pensions

Hackers have claimed that a number of Islamic State supporters' social media accounts are being run from internet addresses linked to the Department of Work and Pensions.

A group of four young computer experts who call themselves VandaSec have unearthed evidence indicating that at least three ISIS-supporting accounts can be traced back to the DWP's London offices.

Every computer and mobile phone logs onto the internet using an IP address, which is a type of identification number.

The hacking collective showed Mirror Online details of the IP addresses used by a trio of separate digital jihadis to access Twitter accounts, which were then used to carry out online recruitment and propaganda campaigns.

At first glance, the IP addresses seem to be based in Saudi Arabia, but upon further inspection using specialist tools they appeared to link back to the DWP.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

We are shocked because? The UK has opened their doors to anyone and everyone and to see that ISIS might have people in government isn't much of a surprise. Hell we have 72 people working for DHS on the terrorist watchlist!

When there have been two year old kids, as well as members of Congress put on that list. When there has clearly been people put on the list for no other reason than to pay them back for their political dissention against the policies of this President.

It's not surprising nor saying all that much really, that there were 72 or so DHS employees on that "list".

Unless they are tracing it back to the machine's individual number (which is illegal by the way in the U.S.) a simple IP which anyone can do at say, whois for example, doesn't necessarily mean that is where these accounts originated from.

Most I.P.'s in the U.S. assign your machine a new one randomly when you logon to the net.

From a huge block of I.P.'s the gov assigns them.

So you can doing simple I.P. trace's like that, check the I.P. but since it goes to that number, one day it's going to some office in the U.K. the next some ISIS savage, and the next the little old lady from Pasadena.

In fact, when the RIAA was busy suing little old grandmothers for downloading music files.

They did that, and wound up suing folks, who'd never downloaded so much as a song.

Because the individuals ISP had assigned them the I.P. number on the day the RIAA decided to check it.
