Ok ... so China has made their first threat towards the U.S.?

China demands U.S. immediately withdraw N. Korea sanctions, warns will hit ties

.....China demanded the United States immediately withdraw a package of sanctions on companies and individuals trading with North Korea on Wednesday, and said the decision by the Trump administration will damage Sino-U.S. ties.

The Treasury Department placed sanctions Tuesday on 10 companies and six individuals from China and Russia that it said had conducted business with North Korea in ways that advanced the country's missile and nuclear weapons program......

......"China especially opposes any country conducting 'long-arm jurisdiction' over Chinese entities and individuals," spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular news conference. "Measures taken by the United States are not helpful in solving the problem and unhelpful to mutual trust and cooperation. We ask the United States to stop the relevant wrong practices immediately." ....

Sun Tzu told us that to be successful in battle, we must know our enemy and know ourselves.
As such, we should know that China has never been, nor are they now, a ranking military power, from the Han Dynasty to the present.
Some 100+ years ago China went to war, w/Japan who severely thrashed them in both Sino-Japanese Wars.
As for Korea, MacArthur knew them as adversaries who would use masses of infantry as cannon fodder and little else.
We live during a time when blather, bluster and bullshit is the norm in matters of statecraft.
We should be neither fooled nor intimidated by this.
As for leverage, despite our self-inflicted economic mistakes; we remain the ranking world power w/the ability to cripple any adversary via trade mechanisms.
All that is necessary is fortitude and will.

I stated something very similar in another thread, that China has everything to lose, which would result in America's gain if we decided to cut ties with the communists in trade.
They need us far more than we need them, in fact, they are cancer to our ability to produce.
Sure, many would suffer if we were to cut ties but would not only quickly recover, we'd see the biggest boom in production the country's history.

Solar, indeed.
More than 20 centuries ago, a Roman Senator rose in their Forum and told Carthage:
" Let them hate; as long as they fear."
Can't wait to hear a similar message from the likes of Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell. Hm..............?

This why China keeps NK close as a distraction. Without the US China would flounder economically.

Appeasement is all they know. Hell, I don't even think they think for themselves, I honestly believe they say what they're told to say by their monied backers.
