Yeah, began-to.  It's a little too ponderously hectic leading-to the bomber-crash.  What is it with cantankerous Scottish Sergeants in video-games barking orders at you while you do everything 'n they hang-back, goldbricking?!?

I got the first release over a month ago, and again, I can't get the damn thing to play, and I'm not alone, there are a lot of pissed off people out there.

Ohh, Sony is being 'cute' with their download as you play feature.  I'm using Xbox One, and it took at least 24-hours to load.  The game presumes you want to start playing earlier, so it's rigged to stop if you played too far along...

Forbes Magazine took 28-hours... here's some explanations that may help;

I feel his pain!
I have an allotted 17 gigs a month via my IP, Wolfenstein wants 50 just to start.
I guess I'll never get to play the game.

It has an appeal, but there's nothing groundbreaking going-on either.  I hope you get a chance to play it.

I'll repeat this post here, considering you've played it and probably understand my plight.

I finally updated my video card DLL's and suddenly Wolfenstein popped right up.
Wolfenstein: The New Order. I loaded it up and the first puzzle keeps killing me.
Grab the wire cutters and bailing wire, open the fuel port, and.....
I die as son as I crouch and enter. I can't open the floor plate, so I get about 15 seconds and I'm dead. (rinse and repeat) After dying and restarting, hearing the same obnoxious rant from the pilot, I quit after the 5th try.

Any suggestions?

Hmm... after grabbing the tools... I'd already been inside the fuel-port before I realized I needed the tools, so when I returned, it was already open.  -But now on fire.  Just crouch, enter, and turn to your right... the faulty fuel-line is level with your head.  Apply the tools... your sleeve catches-fire, but just kneel and escape the way you came in.  Your health should only drop from 100 to 95-ish.  There is no floor-plate that you should be worrying about yet.

Hopefully you have the difficulty setting as... I forget what the studio nicknamed 'normal'... Please Don't Kill Me, I think.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Oh man, that wasn't what one of the walkthroughs said to do, but I'm sure you are right and they were wrong, because it just wouldn't open.
And no, I had it set as high as it would go on difficulty, I like to do that first time through. I'll give easy a try and see if I live longer.

Yeah, 'normal' was the best setting, if only to lessen being nagged-and-nannied by your CO...  You probably get more ammo and health-charges.

My first sticking-point was jumping from bomber-to-transport midair.  -Too much gray background.

I read that the other day, and thought, "It Gets Freakin Worse Than This?".
There were several people asking for help getting off the plane. I hate games that make you jump around like an arcade game or early Mario bothers BS.
Give me stealth and sniping, lots of ammo and grenades and I'm content.

The good thing is that the actual gameplay starts after the jump and transport cutscenes.  And there's plenty of items to pick up.  -Maybe too much, lol... what I meant by saying the trek is ponderous.  I was surprised that the actual intro/credits roll-up about 2-hours (my playing-time) in... and the long wait makes sense.  You've already had to make a gut-wrenching team-decision.

I've been at it about 6 hours now and just got the choppers home.
Pretty damned intense to say the least. :woot:

He ain't dead, I see New Order part II as the next release.
Way too much effort put into it for there not to be a sequel.

Intense?  :scared:
Good game....

Wow, you steamrolled...  I scampered and skulked like a scared li'l bitch.  -Took me 22, 23-hours.  Most of it was spent recharging the lasers.  Bethesda's gotta do something about that if they make a sequel.

Yep, intense.  In a balanced way, to induce re-playability.

I agree, they need power ups X 10, that last a short time, (use em or lose em), and lugging around that big ass gun you took off a tripod, only to drop it at the bottom of a ladder.

Over all, it looked great, played well, but felt ripped off not being able to pilot anything outside of a poorly designed, short sequence car crash.
The fact that they dangled a power suit in front of us and never giving it to us, was more of an insult.
But all in all, pretty good, but I'll know for certain after a few play throughs.

No panzerkruzen-action either.  No turbojet innovations.  That was the draw, going in.

MachineGames/Bethesda are kind of teetering on the edge of no other villain than caucasian No Man's Land.  They have to explain about Imperial Japan at some point.  'Renegade' military whites (rogue Russians, especially) are really running out of steam, as prime antagonists.

Yep, there were so many options available, a huge blank canvas with which to work.
Its this reason I expect this franchise to explode in many directions, starting with the trilogy of the current theme, and expanding with a futuristic timeline on the moon.

After playing Borderlands Pre-sequel, I'm spoiled with low gravity and the ability to cover large areas of round in a single leap.
Then they have that super suit avenue to to take, I hope they take advantage and make some great games, and not just go for the quick buck.
Oh, and shorten all the damned cut scenes, or give us the ability to skip them, that shit destroys replay ability.
