Don't get me wrong, I love some PacMan, Frogger, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders. Never played Tron though. I love those originals though too. I just don't get to play them anymore  :(

Final Fantasy XIII. It has more than a few screw ups and it's way too linear, But I'm a completionist, and all I need is a few more five star attacks and the rest of the items.

I really enjoyed Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8 was soso, Final Fantasy 9 was okay, but I could never get into the new more "realistic" character look and feel of the game.

My personal favorites are
1. Imperium Galactica 2 Alliances
2. Europa Universalis 3 (can't wait for 4)
3. Fallout 2-3
4. Deus Ex
5. Dawn of War 1-2

If i was doing a top 10 list it would continue

6. Hears of Iron 2 (the third one was too easy)
7. Baldurs Gate 1-2 & Icewind Dale
8. Farcry (the original on PC)
9. Half Life (everything)
10. C&C series (C&C, RA, TS, RA2, Generals) I miss westwood :(

I also enjoy many simulation games, and depending on my mood dungeon keeper, theme hospital, sacrafice, sim city also have their place on my top ten list  I'm prorably forgetting 20 other games I really enjoy too though.

but my problem is I can't stick with one game before I move onto another one, just like books too, Haha

I have the exact same problem with most games and books, my library is filled with history books I only read half way through before starting on a new book.

Castle Wolfenstein
Doom
Quake, II, and III somewhat, but they went towards the online play BS and forgot their roots of single player, though I hear their next Quake release returns to the early days and the story will continue.
Borderlands and to really enjoy it, you must have the expansion pack, completely changes the game for the best.
Farcry I definitely yes, II was pretty good and III open world is simply amazing, story line eats up too much game play.

What about the Duke?

Doom is good, but Duke Nukem 3D now that was the FPS of the century. Too bad the remake sucked balls of steel.

That reminds me, I bought the latest Duke nukem and never finished playing it, just got bored.
But it had some redeeming qualities, the over the top vanity for one...OK, that's all I remember.

About doom, if you have 360 you can get it on the arcade. Its cool and got good community features.

For example you can see the speed playthroughs of doom pro's amazing stuff. Check your score and time on each level against friends etc. And playing doom with a controller is much more sweet than keyboard/mouse.

Today's ??? (_07JUL13_):

Summer of George

TboneAgain

1. Wolfenstein 3D, the GODFATHER of FPS
2. Doom 95 -- first version of Doom to run in Windows
3. Terminal Velocity
4. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
5. Asteroids

All these are PC games except Asteroids, which I used to play on an Atari 2600. The PC is by far the best and most flexible game platform ever, and the games I listed probably have never even been released for game platforms.

Wolfenstein 3D will always be my #1 because it was quite literally the direct progenitor of the Doom series, the Quake series, and a lot of other FPS games, on PC and game machines.

I can't answer it.  Probably because of the immersion-factor.  If it's good, whatever I'm playing is my fave.
