Title: Entertaining xbox games...
Post by: Solars Toy on February 24, 2013, 08:08:05 AM
For Christmas I bought Solar and Xbox 360 with Halo 4.  Let me start by saying I suck at video games that require any kind of coordination.

So last night I agreed to try and play Halo 4.  What we found out is that I would spend most of my time getting lost in corners, "accidentally" shooting Solar   or my own foot, or just swearing at the controller not working correctly.  Solar spent most of his game time killing the bad guys, getting us to our destination, recovering from being killed by me,telling me again how to use the controller again, and laughing.

The game gave me nightmares...  Toy

Nice, the more important is having fun together. I played through Halo 3 with my father, very funny playthrough. I don't think I will ever get my wife to join me for a action video game

I'm not certain she shot any of the enemies, instead she clubbed most of them via melee.
I'm thinking mace, taser, something I feel safer having seen her in action.

Nah. I kid, I'm getting her a pump 410 Mossberg as soon as they are available.

It is definitely entertaining for Solar.   We do have fun and it is relaxing (inside joke) for me.  Toy  (https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FConfused%2Fconfused-8.gif&hash=5aeeccbe6bad3ddd3e552cb04edc47be92b4535b)

Let see if I can help.

A man that has someone as wonderful as you, would not wait that long.  Why wait for a Christmas/birthday.

Have you been to a gun shop lately? Everything that's worth a damn is sold out, the one I'm getting for her won't be out till May and even then is questionable.

So I have bought a couple of games for the xbox.  Last night we tried Left for Dead.  I can honestly say based on my skills here that if there is ever a zombie invasion I have found I cannot run and shoot.

Solar may not want to give me a gun...something about "friendly fire....  Toy

She burned everyone including herself.

"Honey!!! How do I throw it?
Me, just pull the trigger as if it were a gun.
BANG>>> BOOM...and instantly the entire room was afire and we couldn't get out, but it did kill all the zombies.

I just finished Alien: Isolation for 360... after two weeks of vivid razor-wire tension.  -Stays faithful to the movie-concept, and is beautifully designed and textured.  Starring Sigourney Weaver's marvelously icy voice.  You spend most of the game hiding in dark corners while being hunted... and solving reasonably sophisticated puzzles.  -While being hunted.  It's an enterprise that combines atmospheric fear and creaky-door jump-scares with an AI-cookie that remains utterly unpredictable. .  Bravo, Sega.

Thanks for the tip.
Do you use Kinects? We actually hate the controllers, so we bought the Kinects system, and yes, it's a bit slow, but the games take that into consideration.
If you hear of any good games using it, let us know.

No, I don't use it... because I say 'uh' and 'um' a lot.  The demo I tried it on was Mass Effect 3 (which I wasn't going to buy anyway), and I was causing more chaos than I was solving... on a claustrophobic mezzanine, trying to start an engine while protecting a girl and a female-robot from some interlopers with flamethrowers.

I will.

It works well on games it's designed for, but a first person shooter would be a total failure.
