Back when I was a kid I remember playing two games that my mom absolutely hated: Doom and Wolfenstein 3d. Classic iD shooters. I recently purchased Wolfenstein youngblood (2019) and it got me thinking. Despite having nearly identical beginnings, Doom is a game of raw violence with a light story to explain it while wolfenstein has developed an interesting storyline (along with excessive gore). I have to say the violence in Doom is so satisfying but it begs for a better story like its sibling.

Ha, my mom played wolfenstein and SoD, while my dad played doom, quake, and unreal. Another good one was Clive Barkers Undying, gives me chills just thinking about it.
