She turned 64 in December....
Sucks, because it only seems like a few years ago I was watching the Partridge Family on TV, and haven't seen a rerun ever, so it's still fresh in my mind.
Man, that was a slap in the face.

I sympathize. Look what happened to Sally Field, Sandra Dee, Annette Funicello and hundreds more. They reminded us we too are aging, some like wine and some not so well.

Today's supposed media darlings? So many look and sound and act alike. I suppose they said that about Bette Davis and Claudette Colbert at one time.

Yep, Mary Tyler Moore was another, I had a total crush on her in the early 60s Dick Van Dyke show, even met her in 63 at a grand opening, nice, beautiful, Morgenstern not so much with her smokers voice.
Funny, throughout the 80s I kept hearing how so many people I went to school with were dying, most to drugs and stupid acts, some cancer, that cycle seemed to fade as time went by, but now I'm hearing of heart attacks, strokes, nursing homes, and family fighting over estates they left behind.
It all kind of puts an expiration date stamp on the era we all grew up in, but I'm good with it knowing I have about 15 years left and I can move on.

One thing that really pisses me off though. Youth is wasted on the young, we were too stupid to appreciate it, as I sit here with a back ache and suffering from a poor night sleep due to a myriad collection from decades of stupid youthful stunts.

One of my personal grievances against the U.S. industry is how it treats its own veterans. The Motion Picture Retirement Home deserves far better funding than it does. The endowment providing operating funds needs to be dramatically increased. Note outdated entry here....

Not one modern star, studio or movie executive is presently supporting such an effort.

Yes but we were free and could do as we liked all day.  As long as we did what mom said.    If mom was happy dad was almost always happy.

That and you could not do anything wrong as your mom and dad would get a phone call.

Sooooo True! Mom would kick us out in the morning, I'd hike to the river and the town of Freeport 3 miles away and spend the day there with friends, and what happened in freeport, stayed in Freeport, unless someone called mom, who told dad who beat your ass.

  True that.  I had other brother, two sister and a town full of people.   Eyes were everywhere, old people sat out in rocking chairs all day long as there was no TV yet.   The only people we did not know were people that moved into town with in the last day or two.

Ya know, it is rather telling, in that as a kid it was not unusual for an adult to bark orders to us kids, be it crossing the street, to "Put that shit down dumb ass, it's dead, idiot, you could get sick!" "Don't make me call your mom".

Our responce? "Yes Sir, sorry sir", all in unison.

I can remember the first time my little sister was at the oceans.  She found a dead bird, she pick it up and tossed it into the air and said fly!  All most all of us at once said don't do that again it can make you sick.

Add insult to injury...

David Cassidy says he's struggling with memory loss

"Partridge Family" star David Cassidy says he's struggling with memory loss.

The 66-year-old actor-singer tells People magazine his family has a history of dementia and he had sensed "this was coming." He says for now he wants to stay focused and "enjoy life."

Cassidy has had numerous personal problems in the decades following his initial success, ranging from substance abuse to bankruptcy. He's the stepson of actress and fellow "Partridge Family" star Shirley Jones.
