From Mission Impossibilist (a noun) to Oscar winner (a triumph), he was far better than Barbara Bain in Mission: Impossible (and also better than anyone else in that cast). His role as schlock film director Ed Wood earned him the industry's recognition...but for everyone else he's the guy peeling off the rubber face.
