Title: Gordon Ramsay
Post by: taxed on February 16, 2011, 04:20:19 PM
I gotta tell ya, these Gordon Ramsay shows, "Hell's Kitchen", and especially "Kitchen Nightmares", are my favorites.  The man is a genius, and wow can he get people motivated.  He is the Bobby Knight of the food industry.

Does anyone else watch him?

I do. They are great but personally I would have problems with him yelling at me considering he hasn't worked in a kitchen in at least ten years. He' probably spent less than 15 years working as a chef.

I don't like "Kitchen Nightmares" so much, but enjoy "Hell's Kitchen" and the one about the best amateur chef in America (something along those lines). I didn't know he hadn't been in the kitchen himself for a while, but I suppose he's too busy with TV programs. I think the same thing about Bobby Flay; I've gotten some really great recipes from him and his various shows, but wonder how he has time to run his restaurants.

I love both of those shows!!!! He reminds me of Himself on the job, lol.  As far as him not  being in the kitchen,,,I dont see it that way. He does and has been on his own cooking show where he does cook. Probably doesn't look like he does since he is opening and attending to the business of his own restaurants...
Love his stuff, I've tried a few things...  very good.

I've gotten great recipes from Ramsey, and various shows on the Food Network. Iron Chef America is my favorite show on that channel, and Morimoto my favorite Iron Chef. I don't do fish (for some reason, I get physically ill at the smell of fish cooking), but I've tried the other Iron Chefs' recipes. Anyhow, I do like Chef Ramsey.

It's ok MM, it took me 25 year before I could eat fish without a problem.
Alaska wild salmon is the # 1 fish for me.  Then the Pacific Northwest salmon my BIL gives us about 8 a year along with Dungeness Crab.   We dig our own Pacific Northwest Razor clams.  We can limit out in 15 mins.

Now, any other seafood I'll eat with no problem. I love scallops and lobster (preferably Maine lobster) very much. Now, it's really very strange, I do love to go fishing, and can clean my catch with no trouble whatsoever. Tuna (if not cooked) doesn't bother me. But the smell of cooking fish, whether frying, baking, no matter how, does make me very sick. I asked my parents and older sisters if maybe I choked on a fish bone or something in my childhood, since I can't remember anything like that, and was told nothing like that happened. I guess it's just an ideosyncracy of mine.

It sounds like y'all have a grand time clam digging. Mr. Mouse's favorite fish is also Alaskan wild salmon; a nephew who lives in Alaska sends him some. Then he takes it next door to his Mom, LOL.  :))
