I remember my dad telling my mom that Gracey was the brains behind the success of his career.
She wouldn't believe him, she said no one that dumb could be that smart. :D

Though I must disagree with the premise of the song, I'd hate to do it all over again, I like getting old and the attained wisdom that accompanies it.

I've also heard the rumor that Gracie actually ran the show. In his later years, GB got by on being GB. He was clever and witty, but he couldn't dance much, and he damn sure couldn't sing, as the video painfully shows.

Maybe the thing that strikes me most is that in the short time since the video was made, we not only lost George Burns, but we also lost the freedom that allowed George to smoke that trademark cigar in a public place. Being free of tobacco smoke is a wonderful thing, but so is my freedom, and I'm not willing to sacrifice the latter to accomplish the former -- no matter what my "betters" in the statehouse or in Congress think.
