What sucked was that Khrushchev and his wife adored Spin & Marty and other Disney Americana.  Rugged boyhood, learning to work a 'communal' farm-ranch life, blah blah blah...  Plus, Disney's wife wanted to meet Khrushchev during his 1959 SoCal visit. 

The Khrushchev's were never 'banned' from Disneyland.  That was a media-creation.  It was actually a police-security problem.  Here's the backstory:

M Squad... I was the only kid I knew who watched it; starring Lee Marvin as Chicago homicide-detective, Frank Ballinger.  He narrated the episodes, which were loaded with 'the city at night' shots.  But they didn't project a claustrophobic-aura like the more-popular Naked City did.  M-Squad was the anti Naked City.  No philosophical starch or windy dramatics.  -Just Marvin driving-around in an unmarked '57 Ford, smoking cigarettes and solving crimes with fundamental police-skills.  Superb.

The whole series is on DVD now. Can't recall what they wanted for it. So is Peter Gunn, It Takes a Thief, Banachek and a few other of the better early crime series. But yes, M Squad was some of Lee Marvin's best early work. I cannot recall watching Naked City even once.

We originally liked the cast, but now - not so much.

The Baron... Let's see: John Mannering is an ex-Army Ranger, then an ex-Texas 'rancher' with oil-holdings... who discovers he has an eye for art and fine antiques... who then purchases the top auction-house in New York City: Baron August's... moves his HQ to England to open auction-houses across Europe, then is charmingly hoodwinked by a secret British police-agency to solve art-crimes, which usually involve political-espionage.  That's the background for Steve Forrest's suave American-shenanigans in London high-society. 

Produced and written by Saint-castoffs, Marty Berman and Terry Nation, it's a comfortably compelling series that only lasted one-year for some reason.  It was probably too much like The Saint, but I didn't care.  Thrills, romance, snappy one-liners... a sleek Jensen Interceptor gracing the motorways.  Bravo.   

Cornballish as Hell, I know. But I loved F-Troop, I always like the three main characters, Forrest Tucker, Larry Storch, Ken Berry.
I still chuckle silently at Cpl Agarn using bacon grease to shine his shoes and grease his hair, I had one of those guys in my platoon.

Vikings is a pretty good TV series thus far. I'm highly impressed.

You have to keep in mind this show is aired on the "History" channel, which includes a line up of other great informative, historical, shows like Ancient Aliens, Swamp People, and Pawn Stars.
