Title: Christmas TV programs...
Post by: Solars Toy on December 19, 2010, 09:31:22 PM
Solar and I went from discussing movies to TV.  My favorite is "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

I said I like Schroder and the music he plays.....he likes Pigpen.  Go figure... :) :) :)

When I was a kid... GOD, those words start a lot of my stories any more....  :P :P

When I was a kid, one of the really big Christmas time TV events was "The Wizard of Oz." One of the networks aired it in prime time between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. In fact, I don't remember it ever being shown any other time.

What a big deal! Pop a HUGE quantity of popcorn, dig up that bag of peanuts (salted in the shell), maybe some Kool-Aid or if we were really lucky, some actual soda pop... and gather in the living room for the big show. Of course, the first part of the movie was black and white. And at our house the second part was too. We didn't have color until I was a teenager.

I remember rolling my eyes when my Dad would start a sentence like that...now I do it to my own kids...full circle. :) :)

Yes, and a well deserved one. ;D

But I do like Pig Pen, I was like that when I was a kid, I could walk through a sandbox and all that would be left behind, would be an empty box full of cat turds. ;D

I actually stole that from the comic strip back in 1960, when my mom pointed it out.
I wish I could find that one in particular, I even remember the little turds in the empty box. ;D
