"You are a sycophant!"

I get this a lot when debating Socialists both IRL and on the internet, I'm sure many of you have gotten it as well, I have even seen it sometimes on this forum, I have never really understood it as the definition is;

Why do they use this term against conservatives? What person could we conservatives possibly suck up to in order to hope to get a advantage when all we want is for the government to leave us alone? 

I'm playing amateur psychologist here, but considering socialist flock around a leader and establish cult of personalities like with Obama, Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler etc is it that they are really just hating themselves and projecting this self hatred on to us or something? 

I vaguely remember when that became the new buzzword for libs. But it was glaringly apparent they had no idea what it meant, outside of the fact it had "Psycho" in it, which they love labeling anyone that disagrees with them.

It was during the Clinton admin if memory serves me correctly, like when he kept using the word "Irregardles"
But it was another idiot lib like one of the race baiters, like Jesse or Al that used it in it's wrong context, when it truth, it's libs that are the sycophants.

Conservatives neither kiss up, or bow to anyone, it's in our nature to be independent.

My guess is the folks that fling that word at us are hoping for a reaction to the sound of it, rather than the meaning of it. Consider the reaction from many (not so smart) people when the word 'niggardly' is used.
