A couple in New York state is very interested in experiencing empty-nest syndrome so they're kicking their son out of their house.

Now, a court in Onondaga County is reviewing the case.

Mark and Christina Rotondo say their 30-year-old son, Michael Rotondo, doesn't pay rent and doesn't help out.

In several letters, they explicitly told him to get out.

A series of eviction notice letters spanned the month of February.

Letters addressed to Michael expressed that he was their "guest and there is no lease or agreement that gives you any right to stay here without our consent."

In a letter dated Feb. 18, his parents offered him cash and advice on how to navigate being out of their home.

"There are jobs available even for those with a poor work history like you. Get one — you have to work!" said one letter.

The parents' warnings of eviction went unheeded so they finally filed motions to have the court remove him from their home.

A court filing shows that Michael wants a judge to dismiss his parents' request.

The court hearing is set for this week.

This is a result of parents not being parent-y. The downfall of discipline, and the non-respecting of authority.

There was a time where I had to move back home for a short while, I was force to pay something (help with the expenses). I couldn't just stay at home like that. There would have been world war 3 at that house as a result.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

Bingo! I agree 100% this situation is the result of the parents not parenting for thirty years. I remember graduating from college and had a job. I was getting married in 3 1/2 months, however, my Dad told me I needed to go ahead and get my own place or he would begin charging me for rent and board. I never questioned his position as I knew he was the "parent".

Yep, and it's magnified across the country.
When I got out of the army, dad said, "You've got three weeks and you your time is up", I got a job as a maintenance operator for phone booths, from repair to replacement, not glamorous, considering nearly all the damage was in bad neighborhoods, so I was constantly getting ripped off for equipment.
Point is, I was forced to accept whatever I could find, it was definitely a life learning moment, one I'll never regret. (this taught me that I needed to make choices that kept me from having to live in these neighborhoods)

But these parents are enabling failure exponentially, these 'used to be kids, or supposed to be adults, are destined for failure or worse yet, suicide, because they were never given the tools to cope beyond mom and dads nest.

I would say they are not out of the woods yet!
