Well it seems his actions, those of typical liberals, got his ass in a heap of shit.
Here's a review of what was a video transcript for those that don't remember, but what happened afterwards is simply hilarious and well deserved.

QuoteSmith: "You know why I'm getting my free water, right?"

Elizabeth: "No."

Smith: "Because Chick-Fil-A is a hateful corporation."

Elizabeth: "I disagree. We don't treat any of our customers differently.."

Smith: "I know, but the corporation gives money to hate groups. Hate groups. Just because people want to kiss another guy."

Elizabeth: "I'm staying neutral on this subject... my personal beliefs don't belong in the workplace."

Smith: "Yeah I believe that too, I don't believe corporations should be giving money to hateful groups.. I'll take my water"
Despite his attitude and her slight uneasiness, Elizabeth was polite and calm, even wishing him a nice day as he drove off:

Elizabeth: "I'm really uncomfortable that you're videotaping this..It's my pleasure to serve you, always."

Smith: "Oh, of course, I'm glad that I can take a little bit of money from Chick-Fil-A, and maybe less money to hate groups."

Elizabeth: "Well, we're always happy to serve all our guests."

"Smith told 20/20: 'I got into work and the receptionist, the first thing, big eyes, 'Adam, what did you do?', she said. 'The voicemail is completely full, and it's full of bomb threats."'
The day after posting his rant, Smith lost his job and Vante released a statement noting that Smith's actions "did not reflect [their] corporate values in any way."

According to Boston News, Smith went from earning $200,000 a year, with cushy stock options valued at $1 million, to losing everything. His family even had to move into an RV.

Smith finally was offered a new job as a CFO in Portland a few months later:

"'I felt like, 'yeah, I got it. I am back',' he said."
However, his past came back to haunt him:

"Nearly two weeks later, he was fired once again after his boss realized he was the man from the video."
Now on food stamps
, Smith and his family are still feeling the consequences of the choice he made three years ago. Using the experience as inspiration, Smith has penned a memoir titled A Million Dollar Cup of Water: Discovering the Wealth in Authenticity.

As for the Chick-Fil-A employee, Elizabeth? Continuing to show grace, she's accepted Smith's apology:

It would appear that now he's trying to capitalize on his stupidity.
He wrote a book about his experience, (Million Dollar Cup of Water: Discovering the Wealth in Authenticity) but according to the reviews, he's still stuck on stupid.
Basically every reviewer found this book to be a complete waste of time.
These are freakin rich!

Arrogant, pompous, self righteous: I read the book because of the publicity about how the author filmed himself bullying a hapless restaurant employee, and how he then had the poor taste to post it on the internet. The idea that a big time corporate executive making $200,000 a year/million dollar stock option benefit package would think that yelling an $9 an hour laborer is some kind of blow for social justice is very arrogant, short sighted, rude, and petty. Reading the book, you see that the author is still in denial about his actions. His apologies are not sincere, he still tries to justify his actions, and he still very pompous. He still tries to blame everyone else and considers himself a martyr for being so "enlightened." His book tells us so much about what is wrong about a certain segment of society.

A MUST READ for closet case, rageaholic, welfare cases everywhere 28 March 2015

A MUST READ !!!!!!!!
Adam Smith is courageously battling the Evil Homophobes operating fast food chicken franchises. He will not rest until every teenage girl working the drive through feels the wrath of his pent up, projected homoerotic frustrations.

If I ever want to end up a closeted, frustrated homosexual who is broke and on welfare, Adam Smith will be the first "Life Coach" I will hire.

Oh, Puuu-LEEEEEZE! Grow up, Man! 27 March 2015
By Stephen M. - Published on Amazon.com

Adam wrote a wonderful "poor me" manuscript and blames his selfish-based ego on everyone and everything but himself. This is a story of a man who won't take responsibility for his own actions and genuinely can't understand why he should. I would have rather spent my $7 at a drive-thru.

Pity Party Pouting, But at least he blames everybody else for his actions. 27 March 2015

What a tiresome piece of drivel this book was to read. Justifications, blame for others when the author should have taken the blame himself and such self pity cloaked as enlightenment. I came away feeling pity for such a clueless individual and embarrassed that he still does not 'get it'.

His journey was only his head, he learned nothing from his experience other than it was someone elses fault.

Should you read this? If you have a very high pity party threshold, sure, why not? If you have a low tolerance, skip it.

Another example of liberals not understanding the concept of unintended consequences. Karma.

Good point.

They are protected as long as they are in large groups, like the Dim party, but as soon as one ventures out on their own personal crusade, even libs see the idiocy of what they created and followed like sheep.
They hated seeing the truth in their actions displayed for all the world to see.

He gave their hatred a face, and the reflection exposed what kind of evil they themselves had become.
Seeing the results of what these idiots have been promoting is what wakes libs up around the nation.

I don't think what I wrote came out very clear, but basically what happened, is he became the poster child for the hatred the left has been projecting on the good people in America.
Suddenly what was supposed to have been an attack on "evil corporatism and religion" turned out to be good Christian people leading quiet lives and living what they believe.

Just another leftist narrative that bit the dust the hard way.

I am grateful for all the good folks who showed their outrage to this guy's employer.

I was scanning various topics to get the tone and purpose of each one, as I believe a Newbie ought, when I came across this little gem which I believe is applicable here.

Back in February, 2015, Proud Liberal (an oxymoron if ever there was one) started a thread entitled, "10 Similarities Between Ultra-Conservative Republicans and Nazis". His numero uno similarity, his number one, was , "The general feeling, whether spoken out right, or kept not-so-subtly-hidden, of being better than others."

Proud Liberal say hello to Adam Smith.
