SF never ceases to amaze. Now they are considering mot allowing new companies in the city to offer free lunches. This is a good employee benefit and necessary during tight labor markets. Can anyone say OVERREACH?

Some businesses and city supervisors are arguing that the company cafeterias are keeping workers inside the office during meal times, discouraging them from patronizing local eateries.
How about, the city pay prostitutes, that way "Johns" will have more money to spend at local establishments?
Oh, I know...
How about porta potties on every block so homeless have a place to take a dump, maybe even tiny, one man kiosks, so junkies have a place to shoot up?
Or maybe...I don't know, maybe the city should stop feeding the trolls and baiting in illegals, junkies, homeless people and force them to support themselves?
Ya gotta love libs, they always create cesspool cities so we have educational tools as to "What Not To Do" in the US.
I loved the free lunch perk when I was a valet at the Sacramento Red Lion Inn, though the job really didn't pay well, aside from lousy tips, it was that free lunch that kept me around months longer than I normally would have stayed at such a lousy job.
And no, I couldn't afford to eat out, even at McDonald's, so taking away my free lunch would never have changed the local economy.
Tha Bat Area is no different, even if these people are getting twice the min wage, they couldn't afford to eat at local establishments, so this BS rule will merely force these employees to pack a lunch and probably look for a better job.

Many times, I see those Asian ran deli places in office buildings. Those are not ran by the company that occupies the building. Those are individual companies.
Are those cafeterias in large companies ran by the company, or are they independent vendors as well?

Not to be out done one leader in ATL raises the possibility of a user fee for commuting into the city. This probably will not go anywhere because it is not exactly a joy driving into ATL. Companies do not need much incentive to leave the city as it is.
