Mmmmmkay.....

Mums the word on 4 month old Storm's gender. I say, see which diapers they buy at the store, however they may just let him/her crap in their pants.

To what end?

To say they are raising their child (or children as may be more appropriate having read the story) "genderless" implies that they are enforcing a lack of gender which is not what is reported by the story. Right now all they're doing is withholding the baby's gender from others who are interacting with it to the end of preventing the impression of specific gender cues upon him/her.

But what are they trying to accomplish?  They already have 2 boys who look like girls and like girly things.   I find it hard to believe that those choices they, the boys, made on their own.  Why are they not more middle of the road...neither boyish or girlish.  I had a daughter who was all girl but also spent 2 years on the wrestling team.

Personally I think the parents like the exposure and shock value of doing this.  I also believe they are dooming their children to a life of being the "freaky" kids... :(

I think mom and dad, hmmmmm....I should say the it persons of the kids.  Will now have a set of show and tell kids.  That they  can make money off of.  Look come and see what we made.  :o

Storm isn't the first child put in this position by his or her parents. Books have been written on identical family experiments and a Swedish couple tried it in 2009 with the child they called Pop. That couple told the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet at the time the decision stemmed from a feminist philosophy that gender is a social construction.

So their baby is not the first to have this tried.  I wonder how "Pop" turned out?

It has been my experience that boys will be boys and girls will be girls (in most cases).   I don't know what Mom and Dad are trying to prove.

Probably in the end that's right. But still, the parents doing this can give the kid some screwy ideas at the very least.
