I am about to drive from Baltimore into a blizzard in NYC. To be honest I am pretty uncomfortable with this but I have no choice.

Take food, blankets water, and those chemical hand warmers, enough for at least 3 days.
You can get them at any sporting goods store or Wal-mart.
You'll be glad you did, and your wife will think you're soooo smart. :D

I have 12 disposable propane cylinder in my truck.     
You can open truck/car windows as needed.

Be aware that all catalytics give off trace amounts of carbon monoxide. You should not keep any Coleman Propane heater on while sleeping.

Ventilation is required at 3 square inches per 1000 BTU. Also you will need to have an air current flow for the heater, which you can provide by leaving a gap opening at the top of a tent window and the bottom of a tent door.

Well I am leaving today. As soon a I dig out the car. We ended up with 20 inches. Snow drifts are about 3 feet.
