Why are people so snarky these days?

When I was growing up, people treated others w/ respect, at least until it was discovered the respect was not earned or deserved. Today, people are just so hateful and divisive and uncaring.

The liberals are winning when they get people to act like this because it is the way THEY act toward anyone who disagrees with them/votes differently.

Most conservatives and those right of the isle are waking up to the liberal games. The libs will always charge at you with personal attacks when they realize their 'facts' are false, and believe that if they can smear you and upset you. I see it all the time, especially since most every issue now is somehow tied to race or one of the other isms, which makes it easier for them to attack you on, and in the hopes of which, work you up to the point where the argument is no longer about the actual issue.

I was recently accused transphobia for having the audacity to not support biological men being able to change in the women's bathroom. There was a recent decision on it I have been following (link below) and got into a discussion with someone over it. The discussion always starts out normal with the taking of positions, but once I asserted that it was an abuse of these girls (high school aged according to the story) he immediately called me trasnphobic for not admitting that trans men are women, thus hoping to irritate me and put me on the defensive and detract from the actual facts of the story as much as possible.

I think this speaks to your point regarding the civility of people. Some take politics way to seriously, and a lot of radical dems would rather shut you down and end discourse rather then exchange it, mainly because they know their points are wrong.

Liberals and Conservatives are both closed the eachother's POVs and say dismissive, divisive and hateful things towards each other online.

In real life, people that have terrible attitudes typically have terrible lives. Something is making them angry. Financial troubles cause people stress and they get mad at life in general, I've noticed.

Or could it be Conservatives are pissed because the left politicized every thing under the sun?
Fact is, the left divided this Nation in an attempt to destroy it, "Divide and Conquer" by trying to pit the sexes against one another, now they're trying to tell us there more than two genders, that freaks be allowed to use girls bathrooms, man's destroying the planet, so we need to quit using cheap, easily accessible energy, and you wonder why the Right is pissed? Get a damn clue son! The left is packed full of ignorant sheep.

It could be anything.

I just don't think politics figure too much into the average person's day-to-day life for them to walk around angry and snarky.

Because you didn't live when nothing was political but politics in DC. You may not see it, but the divisions in the country are all thanks to leftists, in both party's.

What are the divisions that make people act rude and snarky?

Firstly, I almost never encounter someone being rude.

2ndly, when they are, it's definitely not cause of what's going on in DC

I took it as an online issue only. I too never meet rude people in person. Like I told my idiot neighbor, who was complaining everyone of our neighbors are ass holes, I quietly pointed out, that maybe it isn't they who have an issue.
Did I mention she is a Bay Area rat and expected mountain people share her lunacy? Not one neighbor will associate with them now after 10 years of living here, including me, since I pointed out the obvious.

Lol. Nothing to do with Bay Area people in general. But there are certain people in this world that find problems with almost everyone they meet.

Sometimes you gotta ask what's the common denominator there...

Disregard the fact that she is a Liberal: but you can take that thought and shove it. I have met plenty of people who were just plain ass holes. I never did anything to them, yet I get treated like crap by them.

:cursing:

And, let's be honest: I have felt that from one or two people here.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

I guess I'm lucky. I moved to a solid Conservative area of Ca, so for the most part the area is still like you'd have found in most of the country in the early 60s. Very little crime, a lot of respect for your neighbors, mostly because we never see them.

There does seem to be more assholes around. People just bitter for some reason and they try to take it out on others. I wont blame it all on direct politics but i will blame it on the lefts social engineering. The family being destroyed and religion being marginalized are 2 of the biggest ones. Add to that successive generations of disney, hollywood,  and other media pushing this whole, "your special, follow your heart" crap on kids for decades now has also got to have a hand in it. Add in the things like NAFTA taking jobs, the welfare state, and drugs and of course you will see everyone more pissed in general and not attributing it directly to politics either.

I think it was Q who said something about the deep state globalists wanting us so stress about normal life that we cant keep up with the news and cant do anything to stop them. Despite any racism around in the 50s people were objectionably happier back then, even the black families, mainly because they still had families and were drug free.

I like to try and make things simple. I believe we can sum it up in one word: PARENTING

Here's a wild ass guess, the left seems to be teaching kids its all about them, that their "feelings" should dictate the rights of others, while teaching how important their rights are. It is taught those who do not agree with you have no rights, whatever the conservatives say is what should offend them. Just look at our liberal universities, these students are 18 to 22 and are afraid of their own shadow, they ban anyone from speaking who does not agree with them, how does this prepare them for anything but to act like the spoiled little kids that they are? Actually, I see too many parents teaching the same ideas to their children too. Can't help but think that children having too much time on their hands contributes to this attitude also, hard work does not make a bad attitude.
