Was going through an exercise or getting to know yourself - yeah I know it's a woman thing.   

But I did find this question interesting. 

What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?

For me it is about abortion.  It may not necessarily be a "world" popular notion but is still something I feel too many people support and accept.   They will argue that it is just tissue and not really a baby.  The will call it a fetus to make it seem more unreal.   They use abortion as birth control giving no thought to the life within them saying it is an accident.   

But bottom line from my perspective they have it wrong.   In most cases I don't believe anyone should claim that they "accidentally" got pregnant.  Just like touching a hot stove there are consequences to the actions we take.  We may take a chance that we won't get burned but we do know that it is a possibility.   There are so many choices of birth control out there the accidental pregnancy should be the rare exception.   

Having been pregnant twice in my life I know how I felt from the moment I knew (as opposed to being told) I was pregnant.  It was life, it was a baby, and it was my responsibility whether it was planned or unplanned.

I find in my life time it was.    I can not do it!

I nominate the notion that men will ever understand women. Not that it's bad to try.....

In my 65 years of working this notion is what I heard for people "I can not do it".  Time and time again I proved them wrong and they could do it, they just think they could not do it, but with time they could.

That is good, Walks. 

Really though I think the widely held opinion that marijuana is not harmful.  People like to say it is not addictive and the user will not go on to bigger drugs.  Obviously many politicians and state officials must think the above, since many states are now legalizing it.  As a teenager I must admit, I strongly supported legalization of marijuana. 

But as the years passed, I observed that many of my friends had been smoking joints on a daily basis and seemed to have lost all their motivation for success.  Most of my friends were very intelligent, and came from upper middle-class families.  They could have gone to the best colleges in America.  But no, they had become listless and lethargic.  They were trapped in a world of haziness and apathy, trying to feed those ever present cravings for their drug of choice.  No most did not get swept up in a life of crime.  But their lives were wasted nonetheless.   I had just read about the death of one of my former classmates.  He was voted as Most Likely to Succeed.  He had 4.0 GPA and scholarships at some outstanding universities.  He wanted to be a lawyer and I am sure he could have made it too.   But that was all before he discovered marijuana. 

I could write about other case histories too, but no it makes me terribly sad to remember these long-lost friends, who could have had it all!!!!!!   

Lazy is as lazy does, Toy. They'd be slugging down bottles of vanilla extract for the alcohol content, if we didn't have pot (or other substances) to blame it on. And yes, WHATEVER they ingest or imbibe...they still sit around doing nothing.
