yesterday and today have been open the house up nice and warm. It's windy today, really windy but thats ok. Got the wood stacked inside for the first round of heat, moved my little indoor veg garden to the front window close to the wood burner,,, cross the fingers it works,,,so far I have the tomatos up cucs up and the lettuce is just starting to say hello.
Had a bit of a oh shyt moment,,,Himself came home with 1st degree burns on his eyelids... He did everything right,,, and I can say after days of ice packs, antibiotics, lotion, eye drops he is fine. No vision loss, no blisters, n nothing well cept for missing half of his left eyelashes... He is damned lucky to say the least... He will have to wear protective glasses, the kind that lets no dust in the eye for a bit but he's got clear and sun.  "Maybe" he will go hunting Wednesday,,,,, it depends.... he's not sure yet.   Been a fun couple of days....
Now to get his stuff ready for if he is or if he isnt......lol

Glad to hear he is ok.  Anything with vision is scary.  Toy
I pray, not wish because I have a God not a Genie.

I am glad Himself is okay, yikes, vision stuff is scary.

The weather here is weird, yesterday we had 70 and two thunderstorms, today it is 22 and threatening to snow. Got to love it, or you will cry.

Did he do what I did?
I had an RV and was trying to light the funky water heater, with the sun at my back, I could see quite clearly inside, but unfortunately, I couldn't see flame.
I kept holding the pilot down and trying to light it but something had plugged the orifice so no gas was coming out to keep the pilot lit.
Well all those matches had made the thermocouple think the pilot was lit and had filled cavity with gas, I took one more match, lit it and when nothing happened, I blew the match out, at that moment all the air I blew in created an explosion due to an oxygen deprived area, it was like a 4' long torch in my face that lasted only a second, but enough to change my day.

I just had the best haircut and mustache trim in my life, as well as shorter brows and eyelashes, and a real bad kind of sunburn.

I learned a valuable chemistry lesson that day.
