#neverliberal #nevermarxist
NOPE! That's the old 'conservatives'. Yall are dying off! The new batch wants you to be Christian, by CHURCH AFFILIATION, be it Catholic, Baptist, Primitive Baptist, etc. etc. (And a couple of particularly 'devout' Baptists told me my old CHRISTIAN religion was a 'dark religion'--whatever the hell that meant). The 'wishy washy' PRESBYS and even LUTHERANS are TOAST in their eyes. Unitarians? Forget about it!! And the new group sure as hell have alot to say with who one prefers to sleep with! (MORE THAN I DISCUSSED IT IN 60+ YEARS ON THE EARTH). So nope, the CONSERVATISM is intrusive, restrictive, small minded and in your business (and your boxers). You do know that at least part of Bush's new post-presidency cause is to help a group "Jews for Jesus" get JEWS signed up/signed on/'converted' to CHRISTIANITY so--if I got this straight (and believe me it is MUDDLED biblical 'theory' to me), when all the Jews convert, the whole lot of them and the 'born agains' will ascend to Heaven?? I guess leaving us sinners or undecideds to perish on the earth? Anyway, apparently JEWISH groups are pissed and/or alarmed. I have no idea what various Christian groups think about ti.
And you, for a lack of a better term, are an idiot! What you described has nothing to do with Conservatism. Think Tea party, and learn what that means, that is the New Conservatism, or rather, Original classic liberal that is taking over and kicking the RINO out on their ass!
As you know this is all VERY subjective. The OLD CONSERVATISM that I was raised with has been kicked in the ass and to the curb--BY THE NEW REPUBLICAN CLASS. So PERHAPS we agree! MANY of my best friends (and peripheral ones) were old time CONSERVATIVES. Hell, I met and became friends with several of them WHEN I WORKED ON A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR in my town back in the early 70's. (Hell, I pedaled my bicyle at 12 and stuffed envelopes for BARRY GOLDWATER). I damn near voted for BUSH I the 2nd time around UNTIL he gave us Clarence Thomas. I would have MOST LIKELY voted for JOHN MC CAIN during his first run--EXCEPT ROVE on behalf of BUSH 2 DESTOYED him in SC with that vile/despicable/revolting 'whisper campaign'. So be very careful your SO PRESUMPTIONS. I can argue as vociferously my CONSERATIVE STREAK as my LIBERAL STREAK. I have both! Of course, I'll NEVER meet the purity standard of today's movement.
I did not mean to be rude. I just didn't see this thread right away.I am new, live in Baltimore, Maryland, and I have 26 years under the belt. I am a young conservative, very interested in law and politics, and of course the Constitution. This is actually the first online forum I've joined. There isn't much discussing politics with my friends as my state is one of the bluest. My opinions have mostly been private, until now. It's nice to air them out. I hold pretty much mainstream conservative opinions, although I am finding most conservatives tend to be a bit more socially conservative than I am and more suspicious of the Republican Party. Well that's me in a nutshell.See you all around
Hi All, I saw on the announcement that liberals were being requested to identify themselves. I can follow directions, here is my announcement. I am a liberal, or at least those internet quizzes keep telling me that I am. I'll give opinions on some of the issues, hopefully I'm not as scary as the stereotypical liberal. Gun Control: I would support smart background checks, that take into account someone's ability to change and improve themselves. I don't support gun bans or bullet/clip limits. I have to draw the line at civilians being able to own nukes, I have to do something to redeem myself as a (insert expletive here) liberal . Global Warming: Liberals really need to step away from the term global warming and focus on reducing gas pollutants in general. It's pretty well supported that these emissions can cause health problems. Lowering these emissions would make people more productive, and help lead to a stronger nation. I don't support cap and trade, it's stupid and won't help our environment. Politics in general: Seriously our politicians are broken. I can bring up an issue with conservative, moderate, and other liberal friends and we can have a solution that all of us are happy with fairly quickly. I'm pretty sure that our politicians are paid not to work with each other. I'm talking about both parties here. Blessings
Hi Solar, Thanks^^. That was probably a bit badly worded on my part. However I did say gas pollutants and didn't just specify CO2. Granted you are right, I had one individual (unfortunately extreme liberal *shiver*) who tried to explain to me that CO2 was bad on any level was bad. I asked what the plants used to make oxygen, and was told the sun. I about fell over on that one. I'm not an environmental science major. I've had 2 environmental science classes and some self study, I won't claim to be an expert. I didn't go into all my beliefs, but I'm coming into your board. I need to show that I'm not (or try not to be) whatever the stereotype of the hour is). Blessings
Welcome uron...
