Good evening all.  I am brand new here, but thought it proper to introduce myself so no one thinks I am some lurker.
I am a Christian, conservative, homeschooling, mother of soon-to-be four kids.  I am very interested in politics, I am here to learn even more and gain more perspective.  Most of the forums that I posted to in the past were not very tolerant of conservative ideas.  I am happy to have found a place where I can be conservative and not be called all the usual names.

Nice having one more lady in house (on the boards) As you will see this is a adult board.  It is a conservative board but they allow other people in or it would be very boring.  Sounds like you have been around the net some.  So jump right in and enjoy yourself young lady.  I will be nice knowing what more woman think and there ideas.  Welcome

If you know like minded ladies please pass the site address on.

Thank you both.   I expected that liberals would be welcome too, and as for language, well I am a grown up, if something offends, I will probably just hit the back button.
I will certainly jump in here once I get the lay of the land a bit.  Nice to see a few other women here as well.

I'm glad your handle is JustKari. Just like in real life, if I know there's a woman in the room, (thread), I'll try to keep my language somewhat decent.

Thank you for the welcome.

I don't expect anyone to change the way they speak or post for me, if you would naturally edit yourself in conversation, great, but I don't want anyone to feel like they have to change just because I log in.

Welcome Kari, glad you found us.
I second what Kramarat said, we do tend be a passionate group, especially as of late, since the left claims that traditional marriage is somehow hateful.
Can you even begin to wrap your head around that BS?

It's hard not to cuss, when someone is telling you that if you aren't good with same gender sex, you automatically are a hater.

I sometimes forget just how mixed up they can be.

I have had trouble wrapping my head around the whole, you're a hating homophobic jerk because you don't agree with me, but I am NOT a bigot for saying hostile things to you, crap.

I don't hate anyone, but I do believe in traditional marriage. I don't think any church should have to perform ceramonies (a covenant ceramony, no less) in a situation that they feel is wrong.  By using the word marriage in the legal jargon though, they could, eventuality, sue if a church will not perform them.  IMO.

This entire issue would go away, if they would take the word "marriage" off the table. And stop demanding a certain behavior from everyone else. I don't care what gays do in the bedroom, I don't want to know about it, and I don't want to talk about it. They can do what they want. I won't try to force them to change, like they are attempting to do to us.

The LGBT community, comprises about 2% of the US population. My guess, is that within that group, the people that want to get married, comprise about 10%, (tops), of the 2%. It's unfathomable that they would expect everyone else to accept a complete redefinition of the word "marriage", to accomadate a few thousand.

Hello.  I'm Randy.  And I'm a post-aholic.

I've been around since the old Townhall days under nicks such as this one or RANDy Corporation.
Central Illinois, age 56, evil trial lawyer.  Married, 3 adult kids who are 1) a teacher/coach 2) a machinist and 3) a teacher of athletics to special needs kids who is also a Roller Derby girl!

I'm a conservative; not a libertarian or a Paulbot.  If you know me from my previous forums, let me know.  Otherwise, I look forward to making new friends.
