I was on the road for forty-three years. Marriott gave me "lifetime platinum" status which meant I spent over five years in Marriott hotels. Was platinum on Delta. I now take pride that I have not been on an airplane finover three years. The adjustment came easier than I thought. I still would not give up those times as it provided me a very gratifying career.I think it was a bigger adjustment for my wife having to get used to me being home all the time.

That is so true.  You gave up a job; she gave up her lifestyle.

A retirement class my husband and I attended gave some very good advice to men:

Do not decide to "help" your wife by reorganizing the kitchen!

Do not decide that the house is your new "management project".

She has managed to run things smoothly for decades without your significant input!

I followed all three and it worked.

Not my wife.

A retirement class my husband and I attended gave some very good advice to men:
We decide how things would be before I retired.  Just as we decide how thing would be before we got married.

Do not decide to "help" your wife by reorganizing the kitchen!
As we both love cooking we did that years ago.  I learned where she put thing and put them back.

Do not decide that the house is your new "management project".
I can manage the garage all I like.

She has managed to run things smoothly for decades without your significant input!
My wife has always ask for input.

One of our agreements was that the kitchen belonged to Toy.
So over the years, as I search for a utensil I used the day before, or condiments that are usually found in the most obvious of places, yet aren't, I simply say, "Hon, I'm hungry" and food magically appears.
She's a good and efficient cook, but she's constantly rearranging the kitchen.

I'm not compaining in the least, she can move anything she wants as long as she feeds me.

When I look for something for days, I ask the good wife where did I put it?  She will say, I moved it as we don't use it that much.

But we do...

When I do scrambled eggs I use a little high speed hand mixer to take out the Rouster out of the eggs.
she does not use it, so it is in the way.  But she does love my scrambled eggs.  I also use some milk in my scrambled eggs as it keeps them nice and soft, that way they don't get like a dried out sponge.

Now that was an interesting post, walks!

I do not put milk in my scrambled eggs because I do not like them soft and squishy!

But I frequently put a lid on the skillet and that causes the eggs to puff up.  They are airy, not spongy.  They are like an omelet without the added ingredients.  We like these puffy eggs in a crispy bacon and egg sandwich in the evenings. Yum!

She gets what she ask for.  I don't like scrambled eggs but my wife does.

I am a steak and eggs over medium with crisp hash browns using very little olive oil man.    Did I say that was just a starter breakfast growing up on the farm as a young pup, I have cut way back with age.   You should have been around for dinner/supper time.   But then there was always 2 to 3 hours of work after that.  I can remember being call in before lunch time to churn fresh butter.

Yum.  You are making me so hungry, walks!  I also like eggs over medium for breakfast but have never had them with steak.  Spicy sausage is more of my style or crisp bacon....love biscuits and gravy!!!

If I ate everything I wanted....I would be sooo fat!  I love good food.

My husband is taking me to "Babe's" this afternoon.  They are a family style restaurant that we don't frequent but they have great catfish and I think that is why we are going.  My husband is hungry for catfish.

He just did an eight mile jog, so he worked up a good appetite.  He jogs eighteen miles every Saturday.  Training to run the Dallas marathon in December... at the ripe age of 70.

She said no, she said she would like to stay home and I could fix a BBQ steak with all the trimmings for he.
